wondering any1 here having a problem accessing IRAS MyTax Portal using IRAS pin...coz i hv been trying to do e-filing but failed. is it coz of heavy internet traffic? walao, 18 apr last day, ady obtained my pin last Friday (i request 4 it), but till now not yet done

u r using SingPass? coz my fren = PR, using SingPass X prob at all. I m using IRAS pin  stated there they kenot process my request

if u buy a malaysia registered bike, u still need to pay $4 per day. same thing. not to mention the traffic jam in causeway. since u stay in gelang patah and working in Tuas, i suppose that u will be using the 2nd link. 2nd link = pay toll (yes, even bike is paying toll) + the $4 entry fees. not worth it. compare to staying in SG, the amount u save is not that much. I would prefer to stay in SG personally.

Safety. Yes, a bird in a cage is safer than a birs in the forest. Just make sure the stress did not shorten your life span.

Education. Aii... long story. Many Malaysian send their children to study at many country, SG is just one of them. Unless your kids is fit enough and you have the network to put them in certain school in SG, else it make no difference. If you are from local education system and you want to work in SG, regardless of your result the school/poly/Uni name (the brand, alumni network etc) have more impact that you can imagine (unless non-local boss). A malaysian with no such background will have a neutral staring point. It is like an unspoken class system.

Just for your information, in my contract, I am under the contract for 2 years. If I leave before the 2 year contract end, I had to pay the amount of damage equal to the amount of how much they train me. This means that the longer I work, the more I had to pay them back. My market development manager told me that since I had work for 6 months, I had to pay them back 6 months of my salary if I want to quit now.

I also do not have payslip at all. When I en quire for a copy of it, I am told to just write it down in the envelope.

In my contract also said that I need to give 3 months notice after I have work for 2 years if I want to quit.

Haiz..me too..mine is even worse..I have to compensate according to the left over period of months for me to fulfill the 2 years contract!   Although i negotiate that with my boss b4 and he verbally agreed to cancel the bond but i din get black and white from him. That is why now i want to quit and he is threatening me with the contract...   Blame whom..blame myself ..But im still negotiating with him for releasing me by compensate him with one month salary.

after pay, got receipt la... that's why if inexperienced then its good to go through agent as well, so that you make sure all the paperwork is complete.

sien la... how to afford to buy house like this  ...the more i save the more expensive it gets... just can hope more measures come out to cool the property market...

If one intends to stay and work in Singapore for many years and is qualified to do so, one should definitely buy a HDB flat or a private property.  When one returns home to Malaysia either for retirement or has earned enough, the gains realized from selling the flat/ private pty provides a very tidy sum.

Isit possible for a guy who work as a factory worker in SG earns sgd500 a mth???

Just a quick survey, for those of you guys on E-Pass, S-Pass and Working Permit, what's the policy of your company in regards to the portion of employer-contribution to CPF? Do they usually make an additional cash allowance/disbursement to you every month for the amount otherwise being contributed towards CPF or do they just pretend that nothing happened and not pay you that supposedly extra portion?

big mncs gives you the extra portiion... small companies wont bother...

RM1.5K is of course better than $1.5K in SG lar... u dun really have much left over in SG. Compare to KL, u r staying wif ur family, then ur dad or family member can give u a ride to work. Dinner u can eat at home. so the money left is a lot... and there is something more than money can't buy... the time u spent wif ur loves one, ASTRO cantonese shows (though I know starhub also have cantonese channel), friends, mamak, good foods, driving car to different states, my windows are not blocked by another HDB flat and many many more... of course, I am talking about someone from KL lar...

I would say this SEANTANG is a bit biased, mayb he stay in SG for too long already and dun know that KL now is not too bad compare to SG. Personally, most of my frens in KL are doing quite good, and I doubt they want to come to SG even if there is an opportunity. I choose SG not becoz of the pay, in fact I might live a better live if I stay in KL (at least I believe I will have teres house and honda civic by now, but now I only have HDB and a ezylink card), but I choose here becoz the job opportunity is special and there is hardly any job like this in KL.

A luxury item in malaysia?

A number of my frens in KL are either using iphone or gone straight to blackberry. But compared to singapore, its way more prevalent here then it is in malaysia.

I guess pricing, infrastructure and availability of the product makes it an attractive offer in singapore, even schools kids are using blackberrys which you would only see businessmen use it in malaysia.

I notice alot of guys in the shipping industry like tag, i guess it make them look macho.

Whilst folks in Malaysia think that Tag Heuers are up-market watches, the ones in Singaporeans are looking at the Pateks, Cartiers, Jaegers, IWCs, Audemars Piguets, Frank Mullers, etc as REAL upmarket time pieces.  Tags are as commom as a plate of chicken rice in Singapore.
