For the ERP, how do they know and able to deduct when we foreign car do not have the cashcard reader installed in our car?
*
for car is a different thing. There have a camera to capture your car's plate number at the ERP gantry point. So will auto deduct from your autopass ($5 per day?) when you leave singapore smile.gif . Sadly, they don't have such thing for bike.

anyone have any idea singtel/starhub iphone can be bought using corporate plan? Is the corporate discount applicable on the iphone data plan? Checked with singtel early june this year, iphone cannot be purchase with corporate plan
*
just got my iPhone with Singtel corporate plan a couple of months back brows.gif planning to get another one, just waiting for them and M1 to lower their corporate pricing since Starhub already submitted theirs. the corporate plan includes data plan as well.

i believe it's very convenient by taking MRT and buses to travel in most of the places in Singapore. At least it's very convenient to me.
*
that is true but if taking MRT and buses take 1 hour, normally driving will take around 15min or so. That's a saving of 45mins per trip. I'm so use to driving nowadays, will only take MRT when I plan to meet up friends for a drinking session.

I'm using the free Microsoft Security Essentials. I didn't see any logs of LYN being blocked. And it doesn't matter if I'm using IE8, Firefox, Opera or Safari. Cannot access LYN via Singtel BBOM, even when I'm on VPN.

Do let me know what you find out.
*
any idea when this start to happen ? As i recalled, i did login to LYN with my iPhone Safari a couple of weeks back on Singtel BBOM. I'll give it another try later.

LoL, if like tat better call gf everyday at the custom lo.

you could apply for Singtel 019 or Starhub 018. Both offer unlimited calls to certain countries (Msia included), only charge local call rates at around SGD$5+ per month.

chinaman company perhaps. my company do sponsor those industry related course and no bond but they will refund your fees in installment over 2 years smile.gif . you can choose to leave whenever you like with the partial refund.

I'm sorry but I don't really understand with the part "refund your fees in installment over 2 years". How does it like? Mind elaborate further?
*
let's say you paid sgd24k for your course. once you finished your course you could submit your claim to the company. They would pay you back like sgd3k every quarterly. So it will take 2 years to get back the sgd24k. Say if you resign after the 1st year, you will only get back sgd12k. Still it's a bit better than bonding coz for most company if you break the bond half way, you need to pay back in full.

Wanna ask you guys here. My company is giving free half day to all staff on New Year Eve.

However, izit a norm here in SG that I cant take half day leave on New Year Eve? In other words, I must take a full day leave if I wanted to enjoy a full day leave on New Year Eve?
*
our company also pratices that on Xmas eve and cny eve. it is kinda like 'informal' time off where everyone just go home after lunch. if you do need to take the whole day off, you need to apply 1 day leave.

because i want to bring it back to sell to other ppl. just wandering will they want me to open the box? i been through the causeway 2 times, i din see any machine(X-ray scanner) the malaysia customs have when crossing the causeway to JB
*
if it's for your own use, you should bring in without the box. Although there is no tax on pc, there is always sales tax if they have reason to believe you are bring it to sell, which is with the box smile.gif

same here... i think singtel is better from wat i heard.... any1 care 2 share info?

I have M1 mobile broadband (unlimited 2mbps) as well as Singtel BBOM (50GB/month 1mbps) with my iPhone. Notice that when it rains, M1 signal will drop compared to Singtel. I have a aztech 3G wireless router with me, so I used that at home with M1. As for the Singtel BBOM i normally tethering for my Macbook when I'm outside.

Is there a big diff between say the telco BBOM and the 3G data plan over your phone? Coz i have an M1 BBOM 4MB plan.

If say i go for singtel 3G data plan, whats the supposed speed over the 3G data network? is it capped at 2Mbps like what mackiddo and if i am in an area where the BBOM isnt very fast, would that affect the 3G data line or are there indenpendent of each other if i were to have both plans from the same service provider.
*
actually BBOM and the 3G data plan is theoretically the same. One use usb dongle and the other a phone to connect to the net. The speed is very much depends on the 3G signal. Both Singtel and M1 have different speed and data package.

I think you are trying to say you have M1 BBOM 4mbps plan smile.gif

will d iphone die if u always use it as a modem? eg thertering.... will the phone charge as u use?  sad.gif  cause i think my new place no intarnuts so they ask me get those wireless thingie... around 38sgd a month.. might as well get iphone with the 59sdg/month n use d phone as modem.  laugh.gif  .. the cap 12gb is enough if i dont dl n just chat n surf i think  unsure.gif

*
the iPhone won't die so easily one. I have been tethering since day 1. just leave it charge while tethering, it will still charge but slower. Singtel is giving 7.2mbps 12GB if i'm not mistaken, so that should be more than enough if you're not those downloader 'fanatics'. I'm blessed to be in Yew Tee + high floor where i could get full signal strength not only for Singtel & M1, but MAXIS also ... haha rclxms.gif go figure
