the bus 170 would make a U-Turn, and eventually go to the other side of the road, so board from the opposite road to save you some time, but chances are you wont get the seat, thats the trade off.

I've been to JB only once for shopping/makan/jalan-jalan. It was very early on after I came to Singapore... when someone told me it made sense to earn in SG and spend in JB.

Seriously, I felt in JB exactly what I feel in Jakarta or Manila. That it's not very safe to look & act like a foreigner, to have any money in your pocket and walking around without a local companion. Just feels like everyone's either going to rob me or stab me... or both.

I have never been back since, and never intend to go back. JB may be part of Malaysia, but it feels like a mix between a cowboy town and an overcrowded slum, sprinkled with some fancy new buildings.

Hm.. Just out of curiosity. By reading replies from this thread, i know alot of you guys are now settling down in Spore for good.

But will there be a time when you'll go back to Msia for good?

i am using thunder5 to dl my tv shows. it can dl but the thing is, after i use it for about 10 mins, it will cause my NB to bluescreen. this does not happen when i use my house owners Singtel broadband(actually he indeed let me use, coz i know i dl a lot, so i dun want to use his line. he even advise me many times not to sign up for it as it is wasting my money, but now, i regreted it as the speed if very poor). i reach home around 7pm everyday, i open my dl. after it bluescreen and restarted, i can connect but cant surf the web anymore. even msn cant sign in. tried to ping google, no respond. BTW i stay in Sembawang in those HDB just opposite sun plaza. I am getting 3 bar most of the time. some times 4 bar.
