*

that is for Ordinary Wage Ceiling. There is also Additional Wage Ceiling, etc bonus ... where you have additional cpf contribution up around SGD$76k (inclusive of $4500 X 12)

Buona Vista got O&G company ? Shell, SRC, BP, ExxonMobil, SPC ? or a 3rd party company ?

*
Take MRT to Kranji MRT, get out from the MRT station, use the pedestrian bridge to get to the bus stop across the road. Take SBS170 or the Yellow Bus.

the bus 170 would make a U-Turn, and eventually go to the other side of the road, so board from the opposite road to save you some time, but chances are you wont get the seat, thats the trade off.
*
not ALL 170 bus in front of the MRT will make a U-turn. Some will go to Bugis if I'm not mistaken. So for 1st timer, better to cross the road and take it form there.

I've been to JB only once for shopping/makan/jalan-jalan. It was very early on after I came to Singapore... when someone told me it made sense to earn in SG and spend in JB.

Seriously, I felt in JB exactly what I feel in Jakarta or Manila. That it's not very safe to look & act like a foreigner, to have any money in your pocket and walking around without a local companion. Just feels like everyone's either going to rob me or stab me... or both.

I have never been back since, and never intend to go back. JB may be part of Malaysia, but it feels like a mix between a cowboy town and an overcrowded slum, sprinkled with some fancy new buildings.
*
i couldn't have agreed more ! It's ok if you go a bit further from town, new places like Jusco Tebrau City, Jusco Bkt Indah, Sutera Mall .... Although I'm staying in JB, i choose to stay away from town but it's all gonna change soon, moving to Sg early next year ... I easily get bored with a place after a while. Guess I'm among the few who moved from Sg ---> JB ----> Sg shocking.gif

Hm.. Just out of curiosity. By reading replies from this thread, i know alot of you guys are now settling down in Spore for good.

But will there be a time when you'll go back to Msia for good?
*
I dunno about the rest but my main concern is the political 'instability' in Malaysia now. The other thing would be safety. Hopefully it will change for the better in the future. .... oh yeah... and also the broadband speed mad.gif

how to try if u dun sign up for it??  now that i have signed up, i find it sux and they say i cant terminate even it is within 1 week. no mood liao..
*
sux in term of BB speed or because it doesn't support p2p ? I've been using the M1 Mobile broadband for almost 1 year now, all over Sg. The speed is quite ok, unless if it's raining. Normally i would get 3 to 5 bar (Max 5) ... If there's a problem i would normally switch to Singtel by iPhone tethering rclxms.gif

i am using thunder5 to dl my tv shows. it can dl but the thing is, after i use it for about 10 mins, it will cause my NB to bluescreen. this does not happen when i use my house owners Singtel broadband(actually he indeed let me use, coz i know i dl a lot, so i dun want to use his line. he even advise me many times not to sign up for it as it is wasting my money, but now, i regreted it as the speed if very poor). i reach home around 7pm everyday, i open my dl. after it bluescreen and restarted, i can connect but cant surf the web anymore. even msn cant sign in. tried to ping google, no respond. BTW i stay in Sembawang in those HDB just opposite sun plaza. I am getting 3 bar most of the time. some times 4 bar.

BSOD is Windows problem, not M1 blush.gif

Yeah, my expired plan included the 30% corp discount.
I'm still waiting for M1 and StarHub to work out their corporate plans. Planning to get a 2nd iPhone. Been using the 3GS for a couple of months, it's great for ppl who's on the road often, lot's of useful apps too.

From hardwarezone, apparently the corp individual scheme (CIS) discounts are from 10%-30% depending on which company you're from and which smartsurf plan you take.

How's the 3GS battery life been for you? Nightly recharging necessary?
*
yeah, I'm pretty heavy on the usage and also have a few push notification apps. Need to charge it everyday.

Guys, may i know what the procedure to driving from Johor - SN ? cos i maybe gonna work there soon, planning to stay at johor but work at singapore,chinatown..by the way,i'm driving riding bike...

thanks for reply,
cheers,
danny

for foreign (non-singapore) bikes, you just need to pay the VEP (old causeway) or VEP + toll (2nd link). If you are going into places with ERP, then you need to install a ERP reader (SGD$150 ?) for deduction from your autopass. Have you seen the bike jam during the rush hour shocking.gif ?

VEP = Vehicle Entry Permit (SGD$4 per day for bike ? , weekend free)
ERP = Electronic Road Pricing
