i was just wondering something. Can anyone help me on this. I was a PR in Singapore before during my student days. I canceled my PR because i wanted to complete my further studies in Australia and also because of NS reasons. I am thinking of coming back to Singapore to work again. Do you think that it is possible for the Singapore government to actually grant me a PR based on this?
Thanks
*
not easy, considering you 'skipped' NS. Chances are not high.

i haved been called to go for an interview in SG. The company is near Tanjung Pagar MRT station, is $1800 a good pay? can we survive with that pay? and can I stay in JB if i work in that area? Will it save my cost? And i need to sent RM1k back to malaysia if i accepted the job because i have to pay for my car loan. Should i go for it or i just get a job in KL, I am getting RM2.5k in KL FYI. please advise
*
ok lar..pay quite reasonable. Work 1st then try look around for other job. If you are working office hour then I suggest that you stay in Sg coz the traffic at causeway is terrible during the peak hours ... if you take train then probably better smile.gif

From what I know, 1st class honour to 3rd class honour is just a name  in the paper only. It is not very important. What is important is how well you do in the interview and how well you do in the real job.

Some of my friends say that it is pointless if you get a 1st class honour but you fail to do the job properly compare with other who do it very well but get a lower honours.

I repeat getting a honours is just a paper only. What the employer look is just not on the paper but on our personality as well as how we get the job done.
*
seriously, my company don't even look at anything other than 1st class honours. 2nd and 3rd class honours don't even qualify for interview, let alone landing a job.

I applied for PR almost immediately after I got my EP.

for my case, they keep sending me the letters every year asking me to apply for PR after working for just 2 years. Remembered that time i was still on work permit.

May i know how is the payment mode in SG?
Izzit weekly or monthly?
*
Ours is following the American style, which is 52weeks pay. We are paid every monthly (equals to 48 weeks) + an additional 1 month pay on December to make up for the shortfall of 4 weeks.

May I know, being a fresh graduate, is it ok to temporary apply for retail job with the salary of S$1,200 while looking for a better job instead of just looking for a fresh graduate job.
*
it's hard to survive on the salary of SGD$1,200 per month. Lodging already taken up almost 30-50% of that amount

r u driving Sg car?
just wondering how to buy a car here..
used car with 100% loan if possible..
for new worker with EP ( less than 3 months ) like me..
is it easy to apply car loan?
for me public transport much better but my work really2 need a car..
please advise..
*
yup, i'm driving a Sg car.
If you are not Singaporean or PR, then you need a guarantor for the bank loan. You could get the loan in a matter of days smile.gif
I'm not too sure about used car coz mine i bought new. The process for used car should be easier since you do not have to wait for them to bid COE which could take weeks. Normally ppl prefer to scrap their car after 3 to 5 years since the new car price is low (compared to per capita income) nowadays. So there's less market for used car.

Want to ask, if  working in Sg but staying in JB city, is it advisable, considering all the crimes?

Where to find a decently priced room to rent in JB city?

thanks
*
what crime? everywhere also got crime. after so many years staying in jb, traveling in and out I was thinking of moving in to Sg. In jb you could get a room for around rm500 if you stay around town.

Wah, what I can see in this thread is there are many Singapore supporters despite u guys are Malaysians.

If you guys visit Kopitiam or this thread move to Kopitiam, I am confident u will see many ppl bashing Singapore kind of replies.

There are many Malaysia bashing Singapore threads lately.

Anyhow, I love Singapore.

Singapore's HDB resale properties has shown a remarkable resilience in the face of the global economic downturn.  Fact in point being an increase of 1.4% in transacted price and an increasing COV sum for the last quarter compared to the quarter before that.

So don't expect any major discounted prices if you are buying a resale HDB flat.
*
not entirely true. there is a significant drop in COV price for the last 3 months ..but it's picking up again ..

BTW i am actually staying in SENGKANG paying like 500 bucks for one room. Good thing is the owner is my fren and he doesnt live there. Im just amaze how ur aunty managed to get the whole unit for 1000 bucks as today i just went to look at another 2+1 unit (also in Sengkang) going for 1500.
*
SGD$1500 is more than enough for the owner to pay the house monthly installment blink.gif

think cheapest is still rent from HDB but i think for pr only. Waiting list is long but no harm waiting icon_idea.gif

What kind of positions & in what depts are they recruiting? Their pay should be among the top MNCs, assuming it's not one of their local service center or JV operators.
