With old boots, you run the risk of premature wear and tear simply because the boots been kept too long. Even worst if you don't know the storage condition of the boots. The storage in Malaysia is normally inside a dark store room with humidity, so expect the leather to have some defects, or the glue might not be as strong as brand new.
So be prepared for the worst, if you wanna buy old boots. |

Hmm... okay I understand the advice. But I'm talking about old unopened boots, not worn ones I hope you understood that? Like maybe the previous version of a current boot, maybe not "in fashion" anymore, the price would drop no? So for the same price I'm paying for a higher quality boot right?
Alright, anyways, for RM300 which is my budget now, what do you guys think is the most value for money/quality boot? If position matters then I mostly play attack, wing or striker normally. Weighing up my options. For some time I was thinking maybe between the Predator Absolion or F30i, any better options? |

Tiempo air legend 2 is the one Tevez and Fabregas were wearing right? Iirc one of the colourways was White with grey tick, and then they had a totally blacked out one.ive been using a pair regularly for close to a year now & the leather still holds well even after a playing in the wet.. very durable & comfortable.. and best of all (for me) is the fact that it has standard studs instead of blades.. but then again it might not be to ur liking, so i suggest that u go out & try a pair 1st.. i somehow find the adidas' shape to be more suited for someone with long & narrow feet.. rather than for most of us asians with short & wide feet.. Alright, cool thx for the advice I'll see if I can pick up a pair maybe in Pertama complex or something. |

riziger, if you're playing as astriker, winger / SS I'd suggest you get mercurials. The tiempos are more for midfielders, there's gonna be a difference.
If you do quick sprints and such, mercurials are the way to go. I've seen those with the lace covers(2nd grade) go for rm200. i think its the version where the mercurials were blue in color. |

Honestly speaking, for us social players, i doubt its gonna make a difference whether you're striker or midfielder or defender wearing any other boots. If you ask me honestly, i'm just gonna tell you buy the boots that is most comfortable to your feet. Get the one which gives good arch support and comfort on the heels. Thats the 2 most important aspect of buying, not whether you play midfield or striker. If you do quick sprints and such, mercurials are the way to go. I've seen those with the lace covers(2nd grade) go for rm200. i think its the version where the mercurials were blue in color. Not everyone of us here can take MV's in the sense that the shoes are pretty narrow, so if you have big feet, you're not gonna enjoy wearing one. Secondly, i've heard of cases of bad blistering while wearing MV's. In saying that, i'm not implying they're a bad pair of boots, just consider your options before ploughing your cash on this pair of shoes. |

I have to be specific with my boots, I've played since I was 5 and now Im 20. 15 years and many football boots in between, I've tried 3 generations of predators , one 1st gen total 90 , mercurial III, and to me the predators suit me the best.
(The total 90s I had, I couldn't even kick the ball properly.) Im talking Beckham era predators, not the ones now that are wide-fit. I have narrow feet, and nike's tiempo does not suit me at all. Im gonna go for the MV's (talarias/ veloci ) after Ramadhan, and i'll tell you how it goes. Even though you're a normal weekend player, it doesn't mean that you can't have the best. Saw quite a few preds going for really really cheap, discounted prices. Didn't really buy cause I felt it wuld be like impulse buy.
Current preds, black white blue ones, 50% off at 1U adidas, probably weird sizes but if you can wear, was going for like 359 only. Haha sadly last day of sale adi so doubt it'll still be 50% off. Regarding mercurials, I've worn them before and yeah they're pretty comfortable, I don't know if my foot is considered wide or not, but if I had to guess I'd say pretty wide. Not looking particularly now but just looking out for a bargain. Gotta go to pertama or bb plaza adi to see whether any good deals. |

Gyokumen_koushu, are u talking abt the veloci indoors ? and abt t-5. its almost the same to t-3 but i think its better because of the design and style.
faezfarhan, for the vapor series, only 2 types have the lace cover. one is the vapors and the other is steam. the cheapest is the steam that has a lace cover. if u don't want a lace cover. its the veloci. a.ihsan, the latest colour for the predator powerswerve are the confedarations cup colour, the champions league(black/silver) and true blue. |
