Bought it around 2 years ago For games depends, usually around 50-1++ (but below the selling price and depending on the age and condition of the item) but usually the games that is on high demand are the US games. Not many people own a PAL unit to play it. But u can always post it on our chamber of commerce. as for ur US wii...is it hardmod (a chip/device is planted) or softmod (modded using software)? usually the shop that do it for u can undone the mod for u too (with a small fee). IMHO, nintendo should make the Wii accessable to all regions, 1 World, 1 Wii rather than the current confusing set up.

Region locks, well the issue was due to legal reasons. Because in US, some games are differently titled, and some items may not be so legit.
You have the need for parental controls and all, so it makes things complicated.
Put it this way, if you're a japanese or Korean, you would want certain things to look in a certain way that adapts to your culture (language and content wise). So, region locks was implemented.
I for one wouldn't want region locks. But have to bear with it.

You are thinking of marketing gimmick level, the real reason (bottom line) behind this is to make more money (eg. selling rights to different publishers on different regions, control pricing across different regions) QUOTE(ramz @ Jun 30 2010, 10:14 AM) if ps3 can do it. there is no excuse for wii

Well, some consoles don't run away from the dark ages, and some are wishy washy with it.

I think most consumers are wise enough to choose what's best for ourselves. We don't need them to tell us that! ;p

as unique a wii maybe, nintendo should follow the ps3 way, else it really a hassle & a turn off. If nintendo continues with this policy, i would not consider it for my next upgrade.

Lets see how it goes. Their DS is still region free. But maybe this would change.
So, how has your sale been?
