Currently busy with the projects for those who wish to complete the kitchen cabinet for their new house before and after Raya, so totally no time to check pm here. Sorry!

Anyway, will try my best to answer all the question here for all my friends here who have any queries on their kitchen cabinet.

user posted image (White 3Gl glass doors with glossy effect + granite black galaxy)

As I said before, the first thing when you plan to renovate your house, you have to decide a concept or theme for your new house. Modern? Natural? Simple? Classic? country style?

After you decided the theme, then you can plan for the budget. For me, budget is the most important thing in renovation progress. You have to decide the budget, some customer wish to complete a kitchen in minimum budget and normally they will not care about the design. Then they can go for readymade cabinet, like Cavenz.., Today furnitur..and so on. If you are good in matching the colours and the cabinets, you can make a nice design too.

user posted image (Red & black 3G glass doors + granite black galaxy)

Some other customer they will have some budget for kitchen cabinet, they care about the design but not service and quality. Then they can look into newspaper and look for those 'Direct From Factory'. (actually all cabinet also direct from factory, where got people get cabinet from book shop or pasar malam?) Most of the advertisement state this statement, their purpose of course to make the customers think their price are cheaper or even cheapest. But you make concern, why Kian classi.. also direct from their factory, why their price so expensive? The only thing that can be explained, is their service and quality.

Anyway, nowsaday everyone talking about the design, service, and of course the quality. So what I always advice to my friends is: "Please survey for the final quotation," some shop have lowest price for some items, but when you get the final quotation you will find that the total amount is actually not that cheap.
Second thing, " please go to the showroom, and have a look on the real cabinet." Most of the 'Direct From Factory' will not show you their showroom, and you may end up with argue since the thing you expected might not same as the thing the built for you.

user posted image (Mosiac tiles and glass sink)

I believe most of the showrooms provide free quotation and 3D drawing, you can just ask them to quote for you, design the cabinet for you. then only you decide to go for it or not. Spend some time to deal with the designer in showroom, get what you want and know about the materials.

Another types of the customers, they have great budget and they expect for best cabinet. Then they can go for those branded showroom like Signatur.., Kian Classi.. Alno Kitch...etc. You can find a lot of imported materials, accessories there. I have a friend who spend around Rm110,000 for kitchen cabinet. I can just say that his cabinet is awesome, because even the handles are imported from Italy..

Finally, I would not say that I have the best showroom but I will keep improving and provide the best to my customers. Thanks again!
Have a nice day!!

i am gonna engage erny to do my kitchen cabinets. jus have to share my feedback in dealin with him.

he's really good at what he does, gives really good advises & have an eye for details. he & his team are really quick in replyin queries which impresses me very much.

pricewise he's ok, there are still cabinet makers out there who can actually match up to his price (if you look hard enough) however, quality of their actual work (not showroom model bcoz showroom model can be deceivin) have not been proven, so i opt for erny instead.

now waitin for my contractor to finalise his wet work so the installation of my kitchen cabinet can start. also gettin erny to do my walk in wardrobe & my bay window box/chair smile.gif

hope all goes well smile.gif

I am also looking for kitchen cabinet maker. I will probably pay a visit to Unity Design soon.

But i am in a dilemma whether what type of table top to choose?

1. Concrete cement + tiles
2. Solid surface
3. Granite top

Option 1: Cheap and reliable (wont scratch)
Option 2: Easily scratch and must be very careful
Option 3: Quite expensive

Need some advise.

Option 1: Cheap and reliable (wont scratch)
Will crack. Example chopping of meat with chopping board on the tiles surface.
Option 2: Easily scratch and must be very careful
Will not crack like tiles
Option 3: Quite expensive
Is good for display only.

almost...

if using tile, try to use heavy duty type. it can reduce the possibility of cracks. any stone type material will crack under certain impact though.

solid surface cheapest compare to those range. normally u eat 'tapau' meal if using this type of material. tongue.gif

granite, try google around, u might find cheap one. and of course all these investment are for display (showoff brows.gif )

No problem~ feel free to contact me once everything ready~  biggrin.gif

Let's share another project, and we can see from the photo of the kitchen BEFORE install the cabinet.
user posted image

So when you are start to design for the cabinet, 1st of all we will decide the place for stove, sink and also fridge.
I believe most of the people here do heard about the triangle in kitchen and i think i was discussed here before.

Normally we will advise to put the sink somewhere near the window so the wind and sun light wil alwaysl help you to keep that area dry.
But for stove, we will put it few feet away from window since the wind out there might effect or put out the fire, that's is quite dangerous.

Finally come to fridge, the biggest object in kitchen, always put at corner or the end of the triangle, big object might block your vision and you will feel your kitchen become smaller.

And here come the AFTER~

Hi Erny,

I'm very impressed with your work! Well done.

Currently I looking a contractor for my new kitchens (wet & dry). Can you please PM me the following:

1. Contact (email and h/p#)
2. Location of showroom
3. Approximately how much this kitchen set cost (w/o stove), as showed above? This is for my dry kitchen.
4. What is the price range for the attached design (red & white)? This is for my wet & dry kitchens.

Look forward to your reply. Thank you.

Regards,
SillyFolly

Hi, thanks for sharing~ but that blogspot is wrote by my previous customer, and our website will launch soon~!!

user posted image (Granite top)

Compressed wood table top, concrete table top with tiles, solid surface table top, granite table top, or even quartz stone table top????
Which one better? I think I answered a so many of my customers before. But the best way is, go to the showroom, feel all of this 5 types of materials. then decide by yourself.

Because those people using concrete normally will say concrete table is good. those using solid surface will say that solid surface better. those using granite will say granite best. Of course quartz even more expensive, then the quality I believe won't be too bad. Hehe!

user posted image (Solid Surface)

I found this last time and I did shared at here before. Maybe this can be your reference for making the decision. smile.gif

Granite Counters
Granite is the countertop material of choice and it becomes more widespread nowadays. The beauty of the stone contributes to the beauty of even the most modest kitchen.

Pros: holds up to heat; comes in a range of almost 3000 colors; looks permanent and substantial; will last a lifetime; new sealers are almost maintenance-free; 2nd highest hardness rating after diamonds; has a high value to home buyers.

Cons: expensive, but becoming more affordable; requires some maintenance; some stones absorbs stains if not sealed; knives can become dull if you cut on it; can crack if stressed or improperly installed.

Solid Surface
Because solid surface counters are just what they're called, solid, any scratches can be sanded out. The countertops are custom-made based on the shape required.

Pros: comes in many colors and patterns; seamless; stain resistant.

Cons: vulnerable to hot pans and stains which can damage the surface; can be moderately expensive.

The price direct from factory is not much different with solid surface. So my brother always advice people to choose granite, it's easier to take care.

Hope this info can help u to make a choice.
