I want a wine red 3 G cabinet, i don't understand why some kitchn cabinet contractors say cannot, some say can.

And do you know what material i should use for worktop in white?

What about material for black worktop, if it's not granite?

I don't really cook much, maybe once a week, and i just need a kitchen for basic use. so, i don't want to spend too much in kc.

Thanks to Ah Hung and Ah Chai! Both of them are so polite and helpfull. They really did a great job!!!  thumbup.gif

Actually my table top is uneven and one of my tiles came off because my stupid contractor did a bad job. Luckily i have both of them and the problem is solve. They did the tiling for me without any charges.

When they see something is wrong, they immediately inform me and gave me suggestion. If other installer, they will just install and go off.

Thanks to Patric and Erny too.

Guys
For landed property, is it necessary to have hood? Isn't exhaust fan at a minimum is sufficient? Please advice...

My thinking is that it is becoming more of an aesthetic item rather than being really functional. Possible also because it becomes cheap when offered in a package.

Added on June 29, 2011, 6:01 pmAnother thing, for the mechanical moving trays/cabinets. Can they last for long for what you'll have seen? I've heard that these give away after 2 years? Not sure if true or not...

Exhaust fan yes, maybe 2 to 3 unit of 8". A single unit is just not enough. Furthermore the plastic are not made to stand heat. So got to install higher and efficiency will be reduce. Unless you install the Restaurant type, about 18" laugh.gif

My KC is using Blum systems - so far so good, very good sliding mechanism. biggrin.gif It's a life time warranty for Blum products, with 1 to 1 exchange. My KC didn't give me a cost breakdown on Blum systems, so I don't know how much it costs.

But I was quoted by other KC, I think it was Dformat, 3 drawers cost abt RM1k and hinges abt RM300++.

My kitchen cabinet is finally done today! I'm one of the happy customer in hiring Unity Kitchen. From the first meeting Erny has shown me his professionalism in handling the project before I even decided to give them the job. when he's away, his team mate Nicole has helped me with the details, I don't have to repeat the things I want as she already aware about them. Seems Erny has done a proper handover. The another thing that impressed me alot is the 3 cabinet installers who came. (sorry that i didnt get their names), They were so punctual, professional and well disciplined!! I can see that they enjoy doing on what they are doing. Erny, this is to let you know that you and your team deserve a "pat on the back". I'm so pleased with the outcome of the project and can't wait to move into my new house. If you asked me to give Unity Kitchen a rating.. I would say 8/10... The 20% is for the room for improvement wink.gif kudos unity kitchen!

(Tips: If you wish to get a clean and modern kitchen, i think you can first consider white cabinet, black top, and bright wall tiles. For floor tiles, just choose the colour in between table top and cabinet, so grey actually quite suitable for this kitchen's concept)

and also TV cabinet~
