Is not that hard actually, as long as u had budget, and brave enough to accept new thing, just hire a designer, bring your designer to go into your condo, and let do the rest for you.

Hehe. Not experimenting. I have some ideas for the design. A mixture of modern furniture with natural hard/soft furnishing. Using cabinet (TV/KC/wardrobe) mainly in earth tone colour. Almost like Zen style/minimalist but not that minimum. An avid reader of interior magazine/books and reading review in the net. I found that not many combining these 2 concept.

Hello,

I have noticed that most kitchen cabinet shop will do other carpentry works such as shoe shelves, table, etc. I am wondering if it is normal for Kitchen Cabinet shop to do carpentry works for commercial as well? the carpentry price that the ID quoted is too much, we are hoping to just stick to paying the ID for drawing only and employ our own sub cons for the job, I do have other reliable contractors contacts for other works, but am missing the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle - carpenters... blink.gif

I do have the dimension, drawings, measurements etc, just need to find a good carpenter, or will the Kitchen Cabinet shop also able to do a good job like cashier counter table (spray paint with glass), shelving (spray paint) and metal rods (powder coated) for hanging clothes, it is for a fashion boutique. Thank you very much in advance notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Most of the time, KC shop will only using those material to build a square cabinet example like chipboard, so if your design are also using that kind of material, i think they can do it as well. but if you say the design is a bit special, and need to use laminate or other mathod, i think is hard for them, or even they do, also charge bit high.

Thank you for your advice, in that case KC shop might not suit our need for the carpentry that much due to our budget and also the furnitures needed is not for a square cabinet too. I really wanted to look for Carpenter from high to low, tried forums, tried yellow pages, tried internet, tried asking friends... but so far cannot find any carpenter contact, ended up founding more designers who can design and built, some of them are really good, but the problem is we do not need more designer for only a project... since we already have one... and part of the designer job is also to draw the full dimension for built, which he did already, so we did have the drawings and dimension in paper, but need to find someone to actually built it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Does anyone have ANY RELIABLE Carpenter contact to share icon_question.gif notworthy.gif

normally boutique was using formica or plywood type ...... reason very simple bcoz of the striking and eyes catching colours only can be done using these two different materials ......normally is showrooms, boutique or saloon will do the same to attracts more clients/customers ..... the following will help u to choose the carpenters which is most suited to your boutique ....... in the markets generally will have two different ppl was doing the carpentry works

1: chipboards (solid board)
2: plywoods (framing type)

very rare can find someone can do both of them, coz the method and the machinery to get the works done generally is very differents. plywoods type needs a lots of hand-on skills while chipboards generally more machines dependent. like the spray paints glass u mention above falls on plywoods type, so start looking/asking from this points should be easier for u to find someone to do the works. hope this will help....... brows.gif
