Guys, I'm about to do renovation of my kitchen. I have two materials to choose here. One is Maica, and another is chipboard.

The renovation guy told me that chipboard colour are done from the factory itself so would be more durable compare to Maica. He said Maica are just like a cover part.

Which one do you think it's better? Maica? Chipboard?

Added on May 9, 2011, 11:25 amAs the tile, they going to lay wall tiles 10"x16" until ceiling height cost around RM2,400.00

Is this overpriced??

I had contacted DFormat to do my KC but kinda regret now after reading this forum.. Was quoted 6K plus to do a 5ft base plus 8ft wall for dry.. 12ft base wet door only since I got concrete top, 1 2ft tall unit, 3ft wall.. Reason being need to extend the unit up to wall cost higher sad.gif

Is this too expensive for ABS with just 2 glass door..
What's the usual height for a tall unit? 210cm or 240cm?

Am thinking to engage Dformat to do my wet kitchen base door only since I paid deposit d.. Not sure if I can get them to agree to do my base cabinet door only
Can Erny (Unity Design) do wonders for me on the dry kitchen and wet kitchen (wall plus tall unit)? How much is the estimated cost, can PM me.. TQ

I think this is actually a 20mm( or even thicker) tempered glass, the wave on the surface is can be done, i saw this been using in somewhere (cant really remember, been long time already), is just seldom be use because this thickness of tempered glass are very expensive (i guess).

yes, u can actually did a concrete tabletop with quartz or granite and its look more far better than tiles because granite or quartz come from one big piece and biggest size or should say longest length can go is 10' where tiles always come with joining.
btm cabinets should not be an issue but of course depends on how ur take care off...unless u hire maid to do ur jobs..its ur house anyway...take care of it..
but remind u to get a good contractor to do it, i mean experienced one coz btm part of concrete should always deeper than top to prevent water dripping from sink.

Acrylic kitchen, there is 2 way to do, 1st is using acrylic original color to build the door, 2nd way is use clear acrylic and spray paint at the back of acrylic.

But anyway to do it, acrylic is very easy to saw scraches, and the shining surface are not very even, but the cost is a bit higher then glass if doing by 3G door, since that, why dont use glass? since thier outcome is batter.
