Been following this thread from page 1. Finally finished reading all 68 pages as of tonight . rclxms.gif

I'd like to know, anyone has any idea how to combine the contemporary look and resort/natural look for living room and kitchen cabinet? I love both theme but still can't decide which one to choose for my condo. If i can combine both, better rclxm9.gif Thanks for your input notworthy.gif

Is not that hard actually, as long as u had budget, and brave enough to accept new thing, just hire a designer, bring your designer to go into your condo, and let do the rest for you.

TQ for the info.
I would appreciate any other ideas smile.gif

did u found any in the magazine? if none then why wanna make ur investment as an experiment?

Hehe. Not experimenting. I have some ideas for the design. A mixture of modern furniture with natural hard/soft furnishing. Using cabinet (TV/KC/wardrobe) mainly in earth tone colour. Almost like Zen style/minimalist but not that minimum. An avid reader of interior magazine/books and reading review in the net. I found that not many combining these 2 concept.

Just watch 'Flip this House' on Astro Bio channel this morning. They use GRANICRETE as countertops. Practical coz it's heat and scratch resistant. Has smooth surface with no line in between and easy to customise the shapes and curves. A mixture of all the advantages of granite and solid surface. Not as expensive as granite. Good looking too as they use epoxy to coat the surface. I wonder whether we have GRANICRETE in Malaysia. Anybody knows? hmm.gif

I'm interested to have a white laminated kitchen cabinet for my condo. My concern is, will the white laminate turn yellowish in few years time? How about white 3G and white nyatoh - will it turn yellowish too? I'm hoping to get a white kitchen but if it becomes yellowish in few years time, I will choose other colours. TQ.

In term of durability , which one is more durable : Membrane press cabinet or 3G cabinet?
I heard membrane press tends to have bubbles/peeling over years, is it true?
I am deciding on these two material for my white KC. TQ

I just chose full floor to ceiling height black 3G cabinet and black galaxy granite top for my apartment kitchen. My wall is white. Any comment? If not suitable, I can still change because the wet work has not started.

Added on October 30, 2011, 7:08 amI was quoted about RM2000 for 8' x 4' black granite galaxy counter top (including the cabinet end finishing) by a granite factory (including installation). My contractor quoted me RM3300 for the same granite counter top. When I said I would like to get the one from that factory, my contractor asked me to get the factory to build their own concrete based, plumbing and tiling coz the RM3300 includes that and the KC should not have separate people to do it. As far as I know, RM3300 is the price any contractor/ KC company will quote for my counter top excluding the wet work. RM1300 deficit just on that granite alone . hm sad.gif

Hi Erni,

If my kitchen measurement is 11' x 7', is it suitable for the same L shape KC (minus the island) as the KC in this pic?

To all kitchen cabinet experts, can I place my build in microwave next to the oven at the bottom cabinet (horizontal) instead of microwave on top of oven (vertical)? Or is there any specific reason why the microwave should be on top of the oven? TQ

To those with white solid surface kitchen top, do you have stain problem with pigmented food eg turmeric (kunyit), black soy sauce (kicap), red dragon fruits ? If yes, is it difficult to remove the stain? I am still deciding on what material to use for white kitchen top. TQ
