to my understanding...so far only Bernard can repair YLOD with higher success rate (that's why he will tell you need 1 month to repair)...even some game shops also advise you to go to Bernard's shop if you encountered YLOD
my PS3 is 1st generation (60GB with 4 USB-ports and memory card readers)...heavily used for games and blu-ray movies for almost 2 years...no single problem until today...am noticed PS3 3rd generation the motherboard is smaller and lens is different than 1st generation actually hardware failure is very much depending on (1.) your luck ie. am saw some new machines open from the box, switch it on...after a while it crashed (2.) the way you use the machine ie. put on the floor, accumulating dust on fan panel, turn on for very very long hour, etc this is how i take care my PS3 (a.) put on vertical position on the table, place it about 1 feet away from the wall, use Microfiber Cleaning Cloth to wipe the casing every week, use 2000W Vacuum Cleaner to suck dust from Ventilation Panel every week recently am upgraded my PS3 to 500GB at Bernard's shop...throw 60GB to dustbin...hopefully no problem with new HDD |

i asked a sony servis center technician here in kelantan(that came to my place coz of my 4 month bravia HD ready tv got some problem) about ps3 that kaput and he said that they send it to KL to be repair if it was MY set and not other country set.
i ask him about lens problem all he can say was maybe using pirated dvd9 that can wore out the lens.YLOD he also dont know the problem. about only MY set can be repair by them coz of business.something about taking other country servis center profit blablabla.here in malaysia ps3 got a list of serial number that been given out by SONY head branch for them to check and verified it is MY set and not other country set. about warranty not registered on9 also ok but it only valid if the resit date and warrranty tallied from their list of ps3 that been sold and checked. |

@Lopak, that resit they can check only if we buy from Sony Center? My PS3 is MY set, but bought from one local game shop, I wonder if the resit is valid for warranty...

Guys .. my PS3 lense just died i think ... not reading any disc... its 19 months old d .. so warranty over ....
any reliable fixer around ? I dont want fix d .. few days .. months .. then same issue again ...  |

hi guys, when u all bought a new PS3 Malaysia/Singapore or even Hong Kong. Do you guys have the warranty card?
Before PS3 Malaysia Console was launched, I got mine PS3 HongKong version but bought it locally here and i wasn't given for thew warranty card. I ask the shop owner and he said warranty can be registered online. MY PS3 HongKong version now has a LAN problem and couldn't detect any LAN network. Anyone here experience this ? Appreciate if someone could help. Thanks |

Just got lense problem. Just bought yesterday and havent even reached 1 day and it failed on me luckily it had warranty.
