i asked a sony servis center technician here in kelantan(that came to my place coz of my 4 month bravia HD ready tv got some problem) about ps3 that kaput and he said that they send it to KL to be repair if it was MY set and not other country set.

i ask him about lens problem all he can say was maybe using pirated dvd9 that can wore out the lens.YLOD he also dont know the problem.

about only MY set can be repair by them coz of business.something about taking other country servis center profit blablabla.here in malaysia ps3 got a list of serial number that been given out by SONY head branch for them to check and verified it is MY set and not other country set.

about warranty not registered on9 also ok but it only valid if the resit date and warrranty tallied from their list of ps3 that been sold and checked.

yg kena ylod korang letak ps3 tegak ke tidur sepanjang penggunaan ps3 korang.

you can only backup the data from old ps3 and transfer it to new ps3.but any copy protected file cant be transferred such as games and dlc or save data that tied to old ps3.swapping old ps3 hdd to new ps3 just make the new ps3 reformat the hdd and nothing else.
