QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 19 2009, 11:28 PM)
lol, actually the story is like this..
I am a follower of a blog, and the blog owner sometimes posts very nice photos. Then he was a D40 user. (now he is using D90) I was very impressed and POISONED and started to have interest in photography.

After SPM i was thinking to get a PNS camera, as i have limited budget. But coincidentally my relatives gave me some angpow for my SPM, then there's one guy in LYN selling D40 2nd hand with a few months warranty left. then i let the PnS go and bought my D40 XD
*
i kena poisoned by my fren who bring D40X to school to lcly during form 5 tongue.gif

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Jun 19 2009, 11:29 PM)

sb900 I like the most but damn the price tag is killing me. xD

Actually, Ive been thinking long time, either 35mm F/1.8G or sb600..=.=
*
if u usually take indoor shots n potraits,
flash is very useful!

Nah..I still prefer the sb600, nissin looks so bulky for my D60.
*
QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 19 2009, 11:52 PM)
Yeah, sb600 looks very cool and well made... not so plasticky T.T
*
but "bulkiness" matters brows.gif
Nissin got more flash power than SB600 i think
rite?

even if is true Nissin more powerful than SB600,
it still got weakness compared to SB600
like the LCD screen u said earlier brows.gif
most importantly is SB600 got i-TTL to sync wif Nikon DSLRs

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Jun 20 2009, 05:10 AM)

Yea.. the D60 is new. The D60 is only about 1 month old (still newbie here!), yes got warranty. Not sure about the 18-200VR's warranty.. since my dad is mostly outstation. I will test my D60 with other lenses first to narrow down the search of the problem..
.. on a side note, just checked the price of a Nikon HB-35 Lens Hood for the 18-200VR on Shashinki.. RM95.. SO EXPENSIVE for a piece of plastic  shocking.gif
*
Shashinki is more expensive 1 cos they're mostly selling at retail price
street price cheaper, or u can find 3rd party brands lens hood

Did you check the shutter count when you first got your camera? Did you have to set the time, time zone etc when you first turn it on? You can still check present shutter count and match it against the pics that you have taken. Then you will know whether the camera isn't new.

Also with the complexity of DSLR nowadays, you could still end up with a lemon straight from the factory. So many thing can go wrong.  shocking.gif
*
ya, when buying that time, the salesguy gave it to me to test, n i set the time/date/zone myself
shutter count haven check, but i think shutter count sure off 1
cos Nikon HK changed the whole internal circuit boards to new 1

any products nowadays sure got a 'problematic' production batch
especially the infamous '1st batch'
mine is 1st batch...

lightroom 2.3 user here. Same with you, I like HDR and likes to use RAW as well. But currently still using FINE quality JPEG, since i haven't bought 8GB SD card... still using 2Gb doh.gif
*
no showing off here, jz to point out some facts icon_idea.gif
if i take RAW on my D5000(at highest 12mp),
my 8Gb + 4Gb card oso not enaf doh.gif
total can take around 800 pics compared to 1.5k+ on JPEG
