at 1st going for 35mm
but tried 50mm f/1.8 AFD borrowed frm ppl, after that go test 35mm,
im dissappointed by the 35mm's bokeh, even losing out to 50mm 1.8
so instead of buying lens not to my liking, better save up longer to get the 50mm 1.4
btw, 50mm f/1.4 AFS still consider cheap compare to 18-200, almost 3k...

if u wan to buy more lenses in the future but prefer to spend less,
go for Canon or Sony
Canon lenses mostly r cheaper than Nikon's coz all standard have built-in motor
Sony stuffs will be the cheapest among the 3, the lenses n flash r considerably cheaper
but u better hold n try the Sony 1st, cos the new design r compact n small, whether u like it or not
if u wan Nikon, D3000 is definitely better, as it is newer than D60 but almost the same price
n D3000 kit lens is the VR ver, unlike latest D60 stock comes with non VR kit lens
