It works, also on Vista, coz its not SLI technically, the second card functions as a physX card, so CF board can be used as well.

you sure?

coz AFAIK.. vista onli allow one vendor driver for display at any one time.. if there is 2vga with different vendor (eg, ati & nvidia) the card not connected to vga will automatically be disabled by vista

I'm referring to Terrence's post, he was mentioning about using 2 nvidia cards on a CF board.
One nvidia card as gpu and one as physx card on a cf board.

I think 8600GT above with @ least 256MB should be can
I remember nVidia site say 8 series above with @ least 256MB supports PhysX

I was wonder if it on the P35 or P45 chipset mobo, with 2 PCI-E slot, can u use one card for physX & one main card for display???

I've tried it before but I couldn't get it to work and I don't have time to find a workaround. I do know Vista is a pain when you try to use both ATI and Nvidia card cause it will disable the 2nd card.

You can install the drivers on Windows XP and 7 without problems. Just that you have to look for a workaround to get Physx to work. Keep us posted if you try it. tongue.gif

Some body claim that Windows 7 driver model is WDM 1.1 and it is different version compare to WDM 1.0. The magic is still possible in Windows 7. I am looking forward to see this happens in Windows 7.

wow where did u get the info bout ati is physX supported? hmm.gif

@romulus

I've tried vista 64bit with 1 ati with a nv card.
Sadly to say it wasn't supported as only 1 driver allowed.

And that was b4.I'm just hoping sum1 will bring about the gud news bout
new driver will support or sumthing.

Erm, if you are using ATI card, it is your CPU's that's doing the calculations for physX, not your GPU.

@Terence573,

Please take note, when installing driver for nVidia. You must using Physic card driver. Not using normal forceware driver.

Have you tried?

8600GT and above claimed to have physx support. Still, my friend 8800gts 320mb doesn't have support for physx. Weird, it could be driver then.

Who says ATi has physx? ATi is taking advantage of gamers for it's AA performance and dx10.1.
If ATi has physx then it should support Nvidia CUDA for gpu folding in the first place.
