Suddenly think to upgrade OCZ PC4000 500MHz RAM  laugh.gif BTW i think my rig is better now smile.gif
*
Why OCZ 500MHz?Simply get a Hynix chip based RAM to do the job man. Another cheaper solution.You can run 3D mark to justify how much it's faster compare to your previous 3.2E.

Added on May 23, 2009, 12:47 amYour current Kingston RAM can't do DDR500?

Hehe. Since I'm in a nostalgic fever these past few days. I went to my storeroom, dug out another rig from a deep dark corner n revived another dinosaur. This 1 really dinosaur. P4 1.7ghz, 256mb ram and a big huge 20gb HDD.  laugh.gif

@ianho,your 2.4GHz is a prescott?Last 3 months ago,i tried to boot up my prescott 3.0GHz with Northwood heatsink fan,the temperature was idling at 45 degree C. When running Orthos, the temp rose to 60 degree C. sweat.gif sweat.gif I guess your quad core should be always lower than Prescott core.

@kabu,i think the mobo still can go ahead until 3.6GHz with a mild o/c as i tried my 2.8C and it can reach about 3.4GHz like that with 240fsb pump in. If want to go higher i think need to pump more voltage to feed the proc.

haiz....if i still cant find the bracket for my xp120, i think i will let it go... no point letting it sitting there collect dust. sad.gif

@ray
hmm... i think it can go further. like you said, 240fsb means plus 40fsb. his EE is 3.4, multi 17. 17*240 is 4ghz+ already!!!!! drool.gif

@llutephie
yalo...so hot? hmm..... prescott is a bit hard to tame....extra cooling is needed.
*
@kabu,which bracket for your XP120? LGA775 ? How come you bought it without the bracket?

QUOTE(bai1101 @ May 30 2009, 05:46 PM)

How much you bought it? The new one would cost around RM160 like that. Between the performacne of cooling must be quite good right?

*
Your southbridge is hot?

QUOTE(llutephie @ May 30 2009, 09:38 PM)
Yup very hot biggrin.gif Overall the performance is good even faster when loading games and applications such as adobe photoshop. But i need some extra cooling for my P4EE. Which one is better? Zalman, Gegabyte or Coolermaster?
*
Get a Zalman one,but it's expensive. Gigabyte has 1 rocket tower is also not bad.

ya, the southbridge VT8237A is damn hot when i touch it
*
The south bridge hot causing slow transfer rate to the HDD i think. Get a small fan to cool down the south bridge and see if helps of not.
