Definitely... Am eyeing on it too although am currently using the MSI 945GCM478 which is lacking of an OC option.
*
no need to OC laaa....no point also...as long as the P4 can run and used as a backbone rig, such as "jack sparrow" rig, or a network rig....it's good enough... biggrin.gif

As mention by dlwl, when you go for bigger resolution the GC will also play a role. If you wish to run at monitor's native resolution, then the GC had to draw a lot of lines and pixels. smile.gif
*
yeah, agreed...that's why I wanna get a gfx with shader 3.0 for my P4 rig...

as for the c2d...a 4850 is in the process.... biggrin.gif

fuhh...now talking abt CRT/LCD aaaa....

anyway, the CRT still give better colours(gamuts), compared to LCDs...though LCDs nowadays have panels which can mimic the full colour spectrums...ie IPS panels, LED panels, etc...

I got 2 units CRT which is still working, 1 is LG 17" flatscreen LG brand but there are hole on top of it caused my kid step on it. Seems very ugly due the hole I bought another 1 a 17" under Multimax brand. Now those 2 resting under the bed giving the way to the LCD pulak.

Sometime I am thinking to assemble another 2 units of s478 rig pc as I currently have

2 units of working monitor
3 pcs s478 - 2.6ghz, 2.8ghz and 1.6ghz processor
2 pcs of working mobos supported HT , 800fsb
1 pc 1gb DDR1 ram
2 pcs 512mb DDR1 ram and few pcs 256mb ram
1 pc of AGP 8x ATI radeon X1300 256mb and reserved to ravewar
2 pcs of 80gb IDE HDD, 1 currently in use for my linux
1 unit 400w PSU
cables, mouse, keyboards are all sufficient to complete the rig except no casing available at the moment.
*
fuh!! boss...so many stuff u have there... thumbup.gif

anyway, thanks for reserving the x1300... icon_rolleyes.gif notworthy.gif

will settle soon...now busy getting my c2d rig put up together...still got fans to get....ayooo... doh.gif

now, E2180 is ancient part liao lo...

regret last time i din't get that E2140 to OC
*
the e2180/e2140 are sure ancient, but you can find lotsa parts...or even replace it with better procs, if u o/c the procs/other parts until burn...so no problems...

as for our s478 stuff...if proc burn...ok la...procs still easy to find...but if gfx burn? mobo burn? rams burn? good mobos/rams/gfx are not easy to find....everyone's looking for it too... tongue.gif

become premium items d... biggrin.gif

...and i'm sure we all here are always on the lookout for "better" parts for our P4...i reckon it's the norm for us all to "try" to make our old P4 rigs as optimal as possible...so if found "better" parts sure grab liao... cool2.gif
