most mobo, with the power cable removed, can discharge quickly...so would not cause any harm...
but who knows....sometimes luck won't always be there...

well, even we shutdown our PC, there is still supply going into the mobo...until u remove the main cable.

QUOTE(UnknownH @ Nov 18 2009, 04:27 PM) there's someone selling a gfx...seems like it's suitable for our system...http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1231669 try and nego the price laa... Added on November 18, 2009, 9:08 pm QUOTE(dlwl @ Nov 18 2009, 04:42 PM) @raymond, i agree with you...mostly all ati9k series/G5 series....if go those rare ones...better grab it immediately.... i think 2gb is the sweet spot for windows xp, and for our p4 systems. @unknownH, yeah, i see at garage sales mostly old generation cards, like the ati 9k series or geforce 5 series. newer series quite rare already. QUOTE(powerwoot @ Nov 19 2009, 05:14 PM) Guys, I am about to order this psu huntkey 550w green star. Anybodeh here using it?. Read the reviews about this model, no so great conclusions. However I am thinking not to drag the psu until it xplodes as I am not using any power hunger devices within my rig. First thought about to get the xigmatek 500, but the conclusions just about on par with huntkey... value wise I am going for huntkey at rm130 where xigmatek at rm230. Pls advise.. thanks. bro Yazid,I've been using Huntkey greenstar PSU for sometime now...from my c2d rig(my main rig)...now transferred to my wife's rig...no problems so far. It's true that huntkey is not able to deliver the rated power...but for normal usage, ie, no overclocking, etc etc...the huntkey is alright... the huntkey does not dissapoint, and good value to those who are moderate users.... |

I don't think I will be investing in my P4 rig with rams anymore...
currently running fine with 1gb rams....though it's tempting to upgrade... most to most may wanna change case...to a better case... |

I'm now in the midst of figuring out which P4 setup I should sell....1 rig using intel 865 chipset, while another one using VIA chipset...
865 mobo is extended atx, while the VIA mobo is matx... I'm planning to combine the parts to make 1 P4 system, and the rest sell off. any ideas which mobo should i sell? |

yeah...the intel 865 board has lotsa pic slots....and able to put in additional PCI sata ports...
the jetway VIA chipset mobo has a very small footprint and very compact...simple design...good for HTPC applications....but that's about it...hmmm... seems like the 865 is still a favourite for P4 guys aaaa.. |

shinjite and raymond,
ok then. i'll prolly sell the via chipset mobo away... gonna rebuild the P4 and reduce too many PCs at home. so 2 P4 rigs will be combined to do up 1 P4 rig. remaining will post in garage sale. i'll prolly retain my 3.2ghz proc, and sell the 2.8ghz HT proc. |

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Dec 18 2009, 01:35 PM) If the GPU doesn't support AERO effects, the score will be pulled down dramatically. the 2.8ghz ht rig which is going for sale....is using gecube radeon 9550 128mb. quite ok..but tarak shader 4.0 @ravewar,your C2D idle temp is very good,i would say as good as P4 Northwood stock cooler temp. |

hehehe...I've been using my huntkey PSU for sometime now...so far so good...
I have to admit that the huntkey may not be able to deliver it's rated wattages, but if you are not pulling max power all the time and running high consumption devices...it should be ok... also, if the huntkey that you have emit a buzzing sound when running...then you should change it...else it will behave like any other non-performance PSU...cheap and cheerful... cheers This post has been edited by ravewar: Jan 6 2010, 11:15 AM |
