recently, my c2d rig with vista crashed...had to fall back on my trusty 3.2g P4 rig with WinXP, which is used as a BT machine...

still have to say, P4 is still as stable as rock...temps are low, and a very faithful machine to have...

yeah..the green KE70 is my daily car to work, and also my drift car. my 86 is my "weekend" car...goes out very rarely...
both running 4age 16v, anf the KE70 is drift-prepped...
price of 86s nowadays are rm40k and above.

this Hwmonitor, does it monitor temps accurately?

i've been using speedfan for sometime now...and have been wondering about the accurateness of the temps being monitored....would HWmonitor be a better alternative?

no need to susah susah o/c the 2.4g proc...better to scout for a 3.2g proc...the non-HT wan...it's better in every way, imho...

nowadays, you can't just choose what mobo you want, for P4 (s478) as it is already obsolete.

those that you find new, are old stocks, or for RMA stock.

the biostar P4m900 is the best that you would be able to find, since it utilizes newer rams.

for others, it's kinda dodgy, unless you would wanna try them.

I had searched s478 mobos for a long time, and I had learned that new mobos frm dodgy manufacturers may have issues running them.

Hence, I resorted to reviving my P4 systems with used mobos.

some of these used mobos may even outlast those frm dodgy manufacturers...

anyway, the choice is yours...but choices will be limited, that's for sure.

2nd hand mobos are better options, as what fylon sifoo mentioned...asus p4p800 are good, but if can find intel mobos also ok...i'm currently using d865gbf...quite stable, but the board's abit big... (full size atx)

luckily my casing ngam-ngam oni...the board was so wide that it actually filled up the mobo tray!

the forummer "beginner" sells some nice p4 stuff...

i got my p4 3.2gh proc frm him, IIRC...

yeah...around that price...but can't really remember exactly how much. It was many moons ago...

i like it as it's not hot at all i ran 24/7, with stock P4 HT cooler ...nothing like the "preshott" procs...i still have a rig with the 2.8gHT "preshott" proc...currently in storage...that rig gave me temps as high as 50degC...

anyway, i may be selling my antique CM stacker ST01 soon....after i rebuild my c2d rig....too tired with the same old case years after years...P4 2.8HT+w/c was in it...P4 3.2 was in it...C2D is currently in it....very sien with big casings d....

I have that casing, I think, since it came out in the market....and has been using it till now...

so i'm kinda tired looking at it already

currently it's configured to fit atx mobo with "btx" style...ie terbalik style...

wanna try something new...so thinking of changing cases...to prolly lian li...

yeah, the casing is one big *******!!! muahahaaaa...

it can fit lotsa hdds and other stuffs, but need the housing laaa...i only got 1 housing...good for only 3 hdd...

i had my p4 2.8gHT with all ghetto w/c kit...resevoir using a tupperware, etc etc...all placed inside...


i wanna try lian li...a small one laaa..prolly a mid tower design..and used as well...haha..trying to keep the cost down...

yup, that's the device module...I only have 1 unit...and tarak windows also...need to mod...but i'm just too lazy to mod anything...haha...
