cause when jb that time 1 of the step need to verified the firmware.

Yup, but when redsnow ask me to choose the firmware i'll choose the 3.0 I downloaded... Some more apple doesn't allow to restore other than 3.1 lucky my iPhone comes with 3.0 so I can still jb it. Now using my iPhone surfing... So happy with my baby now

what i realize is wifi signal on iphone is bad. the signal always very low or bad. once i tested, i was standing infront of the AP and it was showing low signal.

its still same on the 3g tested, (I am using 2g)

I do not know if 3GS has improved.

Need feedback from 3GS users, is ifon 3GS really faster then the 3G version as Apple claim ?

Ya... If is application loading and stuff... Ya.. All my new app are running fast and smooth... As the processor and ram spec is much higher... But still experimenting though... Currently my wifi signal is poor... Haven't tested at places like starbucks, shopping mall and cafe though... P/s: aren't u out of topic? Here is discussing jailbreak of iPhone...

ffmichael, when you jailbreaked, u used itunes 8.0 or itunes 9.0?

plus i'm a bit blurry bout this, so you skipped the restore step at the beginning and straight go to step 4 (as mentioned in the guide)

your iphone is the 3G(s) with firmware 3.0.1 right? but when redsn0w prompt for a corresponding firmware, you selected 3.0 instead?

Ya actually i want to ask the same question on the 3GS, if i go get from maxis service center a new set, they are going to give me with firmware 3.0.1 installed.
So how ? The baseband will block anyone from JB the set, and there is no effective way to downgrade the fw.

My fren tried JB his unlocked 3G iphone, and somehow screw up the process.

the iphone is with me rite now, it showed a message- to insert valid sim card to active iphone and when i connected it to Itune (version 8.2), there is a similar message from itunes- needs a supported sim card to active the iphone.

Does it mean the iphone has been locked? any necessary process?

make sure the itune on that computer is connected to internet..

yes, the internet connection is on.

but once iphone connected, Itunes' message asked for a valid sim card to active iphone first....

i did sucessfully JB my sis NZ iphone using redsn0w and ultrasnow but i dun know what my fren did to his Iphone

issue rectified, i just connected the iphone without Itunes and JB directly without updating the firmware

im waiting for version 3.1 for windows... damn taking forever.

Im having some problem on my 2G, certain apps on cydia will make my phone hang. Then i have to restore it back using the JB process on redsn0w.

Problem means, the phone will restart non stop after the app is installed via cydia.

Anyone facing this problem ? Looks like a bug to me.

3gs not available yet....but soon...u can read the post from dev team....they update all the thing for 0s3.1 jailbreak....for now officially for mac using pwnage for iphone2g/3g ipod touch1g....so still waiting for them to update for 3gs...in the update dev team has stated another exploit has been found and they are doing something about it...may be on sunday...hold ur horse guys...patient will be payed....huhuh
