hey i have problem same as above, after jb and reboot, key in my pin to unlock the sim, it can't detect maxis, what should i do?

Mine is 3gs set from maxis.

I have Enable Carrier Bundle Support, downloaded all 3 maxis ipcc file, and yet i still can't get any signal.

it's happen to me not long ago when i'll jailbreak a singapore set.
have u try to restore ur phone(back up first)...when the first time ur phone booted, ur itunes will activates and unlock ur phone automatically. make sure u r already activate and unlock ur phone first and then u jailbreak it.(if u want to restore ur phone laa)...official unlock doesnt need ultrasn0w actually....


right now i'm using redsn0w but on the process just dont tick ICY...just select cydia. it's easy to jailbreak an iphone 3gs with redsn0w

maxis iphone does not need to unlock thru ultrasnow... just activate thru Itune (must have internet connection).

it's happen to me not long time ago...when i finish restore my phone and didn't activate and unlock through itunes..because there was no internet connection that time...after that i immediately jailbreak it using ultrasn0w...after the jailbreak ur phone will never activated and unlock through itunes....but i found solution after i shift click check for update button in the itunes to browse for Firmware and update the phone to unjailbreak ....after that, itunes has activates and unlock my phone....and i jailbreak it again...it works....if u want to have a clean iphone u can back up ur phone and restore it...

doesn't matter activate or unlock as long it is working now

Yes. You're getting there.

But remember, once you open redsn0w and they ask you to select firmware, remember to select FW3.0 instead of 3.0.1.
If you select FW3.0.1 when you jailbreak in redsn0w, your phone will get stuck in Waiting for Reboot screen.
And don't tick icy.

Ps: iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore is the one you need to jailbreak a FW3.0.1 on a i2g. Not iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore or iPhone2,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.

They recommend but you can choose to do it without too.

I just did mine without a simcard and it still works fine. Its not an issue to be worried about.

either one....all can do....jailbreak doesnt need sim card activation at all...so dun worry.

What phone are you using? 2G? 3G? 3Gs? Where is your phone from and what kinda lock? Hardware lock? Simcard lock?

Yes. Downloads for firmware are averagely slow compare to direct downloads. I took 6 hours to download a FW3.0.1 on iTunes. Bear with it.

My one iphone is 2g, originally using f/w 1.1.4..willing to upgrade to 3.0 os..

this is my steps:
at first i have download iphone 2g 3.0.1 f/w and then get connected with itunes 8.2..then press restored button, it starts to restore automatically but iam not aware what f/w it used..

when finish..open redsnow, select fw 3.0.1..but did not work as it mentioned the f/w not specified..

then i notice my phone turn to emergency mode...

is it because of redsnow did not support 3.0.1 f/w??? now iam downloadin 3.0 f/w..hope it works.

Okay. So what I do understand is you downloaded both FW3.0.1 from iTunes and the IPSW file am I right?

Instead of pressing Restore on iTunes, you've gotta press Update. Not restore.

When you're done, just open redsn0w and jailbreak like any other iPhone.

And when you open redsn0w, select FW 3.0 instead of 3.0.1. Follow instructions and.. bingo!

yes u need both FW to JB.....first update ur phone to FW3.0.1...and then download bootloader for iphone 2g(baseband activation)....then use redsn0w to JB(make sure u select FW 3.0 since FW 3.0.1 not usable with redsn0w for now)...but ur phone still read FW3.0.1 after JB....for FW...u can google and download from other third party server.....
