Download the right firmware for your iPhone. Please read before you download and check which firmware is for your iPhone on the first post of this thread. Another option is to use iTunes and download the firmware.

some ppl claim that firmware 3.0.1 can be pawn by using redsn0w. but dev-team haven't release any comment on it yet.

u can have a try update it to 3.0.1 n pawn it with redsnow n let us know what happen...

Stuck on DFU Mode during the jail break process. Now trying to restore to OS3.0... Auch!

Note: I'm a 2G iPhone user.

Have anyone try it beside me? Just for your info, I have not been very successful with redsnOw. Same thing happened to me before the last time I try to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2G with redsnOw. My personal oppinion is pwnage 3.0 is easier to use than redsnOw 0.8.

Restore success and I get all my apps back. lucky.... time to download bigboss pref...

Hi..I just upgrade my i3gs to firmware3.01 and JB using
Redsn0w 0.82 and it success!!!

DevTeam: You can re-use redsn0w v0.8 we released a few weeks ago to jailbreak today’s 3.0.1 update. Just let iTunes update or restore you to official 3.0.1 then run redsn0w. The only “trick” is that when redsn0w asks you to identify the IPSW used, point it at the 3.0 IPSW instead of the 3.0.1 one. After the jailbreak, reinstall ultrasn0w 0.9 if you need the unlock.

More details:

The 3.0.1 release is a “branch” from 3.0 that occurs (code-wise) before all the 3.1 betas. The programs redsn0w needs to change for the jailbreak are identical when you compare the 3.0 and 3.0.1 versions. It seems pretty much the only changes Apple made were for the SMS bug, which affects programs that redsn0w doesn’t touch. That’s why you can re-use redsn0w 0.8 on 3.0.1 even though it was written for 3.0.

And since 3.0.1 doesn’t touch the baseband either, ultrasn0w 0.9 works for those needing the soft unlock. Just install it from the repo666.ultrasn0w.com repository using Cydia as usual.

We’ll at some point fix redsn0w to recognize both 3.0 and 3.0.1 IPSW’s, but really that’s the only change that would be made to it. Everything else would be identical, so there’s no need to wait for the “proper” version that recognizes the 3.0.1 IPSW as valid.

i highly recommend that you use a download program (for example DAP, getright) to accelerate it to at least 4 partitions and resume at your convenience.

hey guys i got a question here.. i jb-ed my fone n successfully installed emulator... how m i suppose to load those rom into my fone? i can find any file explorer app in cydia ???

i think ROM is consider illegal..... so we can't discuss it in lyn

alright, let me change my question how do i upload my files like ebook, txt file or something into my fone?

okie....u can download it thru cydia... if it is not in cydia, then u got to use SSH or iphone browser to manually transfer into iphone.

try delete d apps from your itune...... and re-download n resync to your iphone...

im using redsnow to jb. but it seem to hang at the reboot screen several times. when i restore it, notice the firmware uodate to 3.0.1 ... try again with redsnow, still cant get through. im on iphone 3gs, 3.0.1 .. pls help

bro, does dis apps have updates for every league? i can c the champs league results there, does it consume much data usage?

just got my iphone 3gs 16g white yesterday, had jb with redsnow 0.8, everything runs smoothly. however, when i try to chg the telco carrier logo, it doesn't allow me to select the mymaxis ipcc file. i had try to Enable Carrier Bundle Support in iTunes 8.2 both in my imac and also windows pc.... both also doesn't work. Still unable to select the ipcc file ==1

Some question about the DFU restore on the Maxis iPhone 3G S. If you do a DFU restore will it wipe out all the maxis settings? (e.g. MMS, APN, Internet tethering) or will all this restore when you get the carrier update?

Use Stuffit Expander in your iMac to extract the ipcc file. If you don't have Stuffit Expander, download it as its free.


DFU will wipeout your Maxis settings. Just update the carrier settings when iTunes prompts you to do so. If you wanna enable the Cellular Data Network which is not visible after you update the carrier settings via iTunes, use the iPhone 3.0 Maxis ipcc file provided: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/752226
