Can I do the same with pwnagetool in my MAC? Cause the last time around when I used redsnOw, it stuck at DFU mode and left my iPhone 2G updated with OS3.0.1 without jailbreak. No Cydia means no life to me.... Help!

resn0w is compatible with Mac too. so jailbreaking with it shouldn't be a problem. try repeating the process again.

currently updating to firmware 3.0.1

both perform d same task. But I find it redsnow abit easier for me. The most important things is read all
the step before u perform jb.

os3.0.1 not stable after jailbreak...when use spotlight , will always jump to safe mode. I rather restore it back to stable version(3.0). Not a good choice to update this..should wait for os3.1, in my opinion.

so os3.0.1 is not stable when using spotlight? can anyone confirm this?

Added on August 2, 2009, 9:29 pm I had the same problem also. You download the IPSW file but after finished the downloading, you change the file name to "APPLE.IPSW". Do not extract it...Hope this help

That old method.. They change on step 8 already for redsnow 0.8
dont use 0.7

HAd my fair share of issues doing JB using redsnow so I decided to use Purplera1n and its much simpler than redsnow. Go Purplera1n.

Bro, I faced the same issue of stopped at 2nd reboot, that's why using purplera1n, no such problem and very straightforward compared to redsnow.
