why in my network setting cant find internet tetthering?? HELP PlS

If you are using Maxis SIM Card, it should be there by default.
I think you are using other Telco's SIM.

i using digi... but my gf oso digi.. she using iphone 3.0 version got tis internet tethering...
but mine 3.1 dun have internet tethering... what the problem ar?? aiks HELP

FW 3.0 is 'open' to all, which has not blocked by Apple, but FW 3.1 (or later) only signed for authorized Telco.
Yet some of the forumers here claimed they do have Internet Tethering though.

so how can i down grade to version 3.0??

You can't downgrade, apple won't allow u to do that unless u already backup your ECID SHSH when u jb

So success everythings ay OK, just tried Layar, AWESOME, only the carrier logo is missing and havent tried 3G yet coz not in maxis connection, will try it next week.

mine is not an officially unlocked set, as i bought it from someone else before...then what can i do?

recently i jb my 3gs by myself and it was success (i think so) until i found out that i cant send MMS.. is it because i jb? or because telco failure? please enlighten me, thank you.

Shud nt be a prob. Check if mms works on a diff phone. Or if edge,GPRS or 3g is working. I've been sending out mms of my new toy by mms today. No prob.

i tried with n95, n it works.. the problem is there is no option on my phone to send mms..

Try restore. Dun Jb n send. Then Jb n send. Let's see whr da prob is.

maybe bro you can call maxis and check with them the settings....once i had the problem when after changing from sony to iphone,,...

i'm using 3gs singapore set, officially unlocked. upgraded to 3.1.2 firmware, initially couldn't send mms also (the mms option in the photo folder and camera icon in sms was gone). upon checking the modem firmware oredi upgraded to 05.11.07, and carrier also changed to Carrier 5.0 (i'm using celcom). so, be it i think.

jailbreak it with blackra1n, successful in single attempt. it's all good, at that time i realized my carrier logo was still showing 'MY CELCOM', so i decided to update it by the usual way (hold shift while pressing update in itunes while choosing the old ipcc file provided in the carrier logo thread - this old ipcc file i saved it in my desktop, but i noticed there is a new version of ipcc file provided in the carrier logo/bundle topic+thread).

to my surprise, the mms option in the photo folder is there, and the camera icon in the sms write new also got. when i checked in my setting, the carrier shows Celcom 4.0, while my modem firmware still intact at 05.11.07. tried sending few mms, with no hassle it really works. even the mms settings also has been filled up (before was totally blank).

IMHO, the trick here is to update the carrier logo (or carrier bundle?) using the old ipcc file, after you have restored to 3.1.2 firmware.

hopefully this can help to others out there who has this mms disability with other telco problem.

i just called maxis, and the staff said 'sorry sir, your iphone cannot support mms function'.. hahaha very crazy!

i have yet to try tethering function though - scared it will disappear if i activate it, LOL.

The iPhone Messaging app covers both the normal SMS and MMS. To send an MMS instead, click on the small camera icon on the left of where you normally type your text in.

Also, you can check if your MMS settings are turned ON in Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging (ON).
