This thread is too long for to follow, so can anyone can please answer this quick question; I have 3.0 unlocked aussies 3GS unit that has been JBed. Has JB for 3.1 OS is available right now, and if it is, where do I get it? I use purple rain to JB my phone last time, by the way.

I really need some help from the expert over here. This section of forum are just too long too read and I'm still not confident enough if I can still jailbreak my iPhone 3GS.

Well I bought my iphone 3gs 32g from Maxis without the package. Just the phone only. Bought it in early August this year and I've upgraded my iphone from 3.0 to 3.1. So I was thinking to upgrade to 3.1.2 but not really sure if that's the good idea the moment.

I need a simple solution to jailbreak my iphone 3gs and I have a macbookpro that could work with PwnageTool 3.1.4. but I need advise if I can use this to jailbreak.

If I jailbreak my phone will I still be able to use the internet tethering and will I still be able to use my 3g network or to make it simple is there anything that I couldn't do now after I jailbreak my iphone?

I would appreciate it if anyone here could help me with this. Thank you in advance.

if it helps, im using 3gs too n after jb, tethering is working fine...
u can use blackra1n if u wanna get it done in da simplest way possible...

Not working for me.
- on 3g and off edge (with sbsetting) = safari cannot connect to Internet
- on both 3g and edge (with sbsetting) = safari working

if not mistaken....3g and egde need to be on if u want to used the internet....

Anyway what do you mean by "otb" and not to worry about update? How do I know if mine is unlocked? And I read before this in some website that the modem firmware 05.11.07 cannot be unlocked?

for lock phone....baseband 5.11 cannot be unlock yet...still in progress to make it unlock...but dun know when will be release. For out of the box 3.1 @ 3.1.2 from maxis or official unlock iphone...blackrain and pwnage tools can do the job prefectly in JB.

otb is out of box unlocked..
maxis, singtel offers unlocked units

they r means of using data packet services, different in terms of speed only..
whichever u use, u'll hike up ur bill if u nt on unlimited plan

for me,yes. i need to on both 3g and edge if i want to use internet. if i turn 3g on n edge off,not gonna work. i dun know bout others.

If u are not official maxis set or unlocked set do not use blackra1n. blackra1n does not unlock your phone. It only meant for jb.
