I really need some help from the expert over here. This section of forum are just too long too read and I'm still not confident enough if I can still jailbreak my iPhone 3GS.

Well I bought my iphone 3gs 32g from Maxis without the package. Just the phone only. Bought it in early August this year and I've upgraded my iphone from 3.0 to 3.1. So I was thinking to upgrade to 3.1.2 but not really sure if that's the good idea the moment.

I need a simple solution to jailbreak my iphone 3gs and I have a macbookpro that could work with PwnageTool 3.1.4. but I need advise if I can use this to jailbreak.

If I jailbreak my phone will I still be able to use the internet tethering and will I still be able to use my 3g network or to make it simple is there anything that I couldn't do now after I jailbreak my iphone?

Anyway what do you mean by "otb" and not to worry about update? How do I know if mine is unlocked? And I read before this in some website that the modem firmware 05.11.07 cannot be unlocked?

Im still a bit scared to JB my phone. I mean harmeet15 already guide me through but still after hearing all the post after mine still make me not sure if I'm really confident enough to do it.

I just upgraded mine from 3.1 to 3.12 from apple official. So know all I need to do is download blackra1n and wolla it should work as what mention. Just wondering, if I jail my phone now will all my msgs, contact and other stuff will remain the there? All the stuff are very important for me.

Im sorry again for my silly question but I just need to make sure this JB works on mine without any problem mention earlier.
