Wewt, thanks shock!

I tried JB'ing 3 times with XP SP3, didn't work. Ran in safe mode and it worked like a charm, so if you're having problems with redsn0w and you're running SP3, go to safe mode!

Problem though. I'm trying to upgrade my Cydia. Got Cydia Installer and Debian Packager in the Changes tab, but no matter using WiFi/Streamyx or Maxis 3G I get spammed with POSIX Operation Timed Out errors.

Eventually after keeping on retrying, it downloads completely but then I get Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on essential.

Any ideas?

hi guys,

got some problem after jb my iphone 2g with redsn0w and I'm using Maxis btw:
1. receiving SMS is delayed than actual time by 10-20 minutes. (randomly)
2. incoming calls are hard to get through
3. My battery drains 1.5x faster (rough estimate)

This did not happen to me previously though. Any thoughts?

thanks in advance

I must agreed with the #3 issue...battery does seems to drain faster once on 3.0OS
Now have to charge daily instead of alternate days.

On the #1 & #2 issue...so far no any problem..tested many times.

Btw...I'm on iPhone 2G redSnow to 3.0OS

Saurik Jayman posted saying that he has some stability issue Cydia at the moment. He just updated a newer version of Cydia yesterday BUT again mentioning that it will still have some issue.

Definitely we will see updates for Cydia soon since it's still on a very early stage of with redSnow and later ultraSnow...could say all of us are on the learning stages before things settled down.

My suggestion to you is not to upgrade yet and wait it out. Not that i'm stopping you from upgrading but since you're afraid of those issues, best to stay away and wait till things get better or a better solution provided.

but strange enough Yahoo is working for me...I received push notification from your yahoo IM too :/
Maybe I manage to login to Yahoo before they change their server.....

From Beejive,

Hi all, sorry for the Yahoo problem.

This is due to a change on Yahoo's servers, we should hopefully have an update shortly on our end. It's NOT related to 3.0 and will NOT require a client side change.

Talk about timing.

Hi everyone..

Im new here.. biggrin.gif and using 2G iphone. I would like to ask opinion someone here about updating my software from 2.2.1 to 3.0.
well im quite afraid to update since i can see here quite the number of 'victim' which accidently update their software to 3.0.
So my question is:

1. Can i update to 3.0? if can is there any risk?
2. If cant, please explain to me?

Really appreciates for your feedback..

Read the first post as guidelines/warnings are given and what not. Please read the guides provided and download the necessary files to update to 3.0. If you're not confident in doing so, please look for Hanxz to assist you on upgrading to iPhone 3.0 @ http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=826183&hl

Don't choose Hacktivation method. Official Maxis carrier has to be activated manually via iTunes. You can't hacktivate it. It has to do a sync with Apple/Maxis server in order to activate the service

You can proceed to step 3 since you have updated to 3.0 and follow the guide onwards.

i don't think it is supposed to be a .RAR file. Did you download it direct from Apple site?

to help answer the question on how long u need to wait.. i think it's quite subjective.. u just need to wait for the dev-team to come up with better solution.. or maybe it's actually the OS 3.0 problem.. biggrin.gif

I would not know mate. I said wait it out because you were afraid to upgrade. So the obvious answer is to ask you not to. You can actually upgrade now but given that you're not ready to try it out.

For .rar or .zip, removing the .rar or .zip extension gives you the ipsw file.

This is due to your configuration of browser etc. Some browsers even extract the zip or rar.
