Hi,i am using compaq cq40-115au....I have jz reformated the laptop....
I am facing some problems with the sound....it doesnt seem to work properly when there are other programs running....the sound is like lagging.....
Cn anyone plz help me....

Btw,i am using windows vista home premium 32 bit.....n the driver that i have installed from compaq website is known as IDT High Definition Audio CODEC....

does using cooler pad help reduce the temp?

did u go website download the driver ? Uninstall ur driver first then reinstall again ?last time using with vista didnt facing this problem .

Yup,i did download from the compaq website.....n i did try uninstalling n installing it again....its still the same.....
wonder why?????

btw , can tell how the lagging sound u facing when running other program ? And what program that u are running ?

Its like when i am running internet explorer,mozilla firefox n downloadin files.....
The sound is coming from the speaker but its like nt smoothly....its like being stuck n then only it comes out.....

ur set still under warranty by hp? if yes, i suggest u bring it to check better bro, last time my speaker got problem too, they change a new speaker for me

Bro,jz last month i send it for warranty...it had lcd n keyboard problem.....

i think it's more to software related problem than hardware...
last time i open winamp and surf the net i can hear the sound is lagging when i scroll down and down...

i choose to ignore it...
last night it happen again when i was watching movie...this time the movie got stuck for a while.....

now it the problem has disappear.....

i'm using win xp sp3

maybe u should try to clean ur old driver first and then install a new one

Thats exactly the problem that i am facing....but it only happens when i am using windows media player n winamp....
when i am using DivX player it is ok....
Should u i reformat the laptop n reinstall all the drivers again???

why not try the win7 , better then vista and more easy to search the driver

Anyone know where i can get driver for pendrive for CQ40 ? My bro CQ40 cant detect pendrive in Vista 32bits. When we insert pendrive, Add New hardware detected, and after click next ( Auto search for the driver online) , it prompt error while installing the driver.
