does anyone notice REIT counters suddenly got quite active trade today..? could be a shift of fund from normal shares (heading south) to income based counters (sleepy since early the year)? safe parking for handsome profit after 'gorenged' for the past 3 weeks?

"sell in may and go away" summer holiday starts in may. so the ang moh sell off their shares and go for a 3-months vacation, without looking/worrying about stock market. market would be quiet / less trading during may - june. |

Another thing is other stocks goreng too much jor, not worth based on current market situation (based on my personal opinion). I have been buy Reits for quite some time. But lately, buying up more as other shares seems flying up too much jor. Axreit also fly up too much. That's why my last buy was 1.40.

no wonder la...i jumped in BSDREIT last week..HEKTAR two days ago...today bought ARREIT. not mean buy or sell !
worth to give deep thought on REITs below (current price vs last year DPU): ARREIT (0.72, last DPU 7.01 cents) BSDREIT (1.11, DPU 11.03 cents) HEKTAR (0.885, DPU 10.3 cents) UOAREIT (1.03, DPU 10.03 cents) AXREIT (1.50, DPU 15.27 cents - highest woo..) ATRIUM (0.62, DPU 8.4 cents) - got tenancy problem but the management is confident to find a new one.. all are closed to 10% and more gross yields. i know this does not mean they will maintain the performance due to uncertainty in our economy. suffice to say it is much better than FD and units trusts (slow to appreciate when the economy recover later).... may be we want to hear a fairer verdicts from sifu cherroy? |

During good days $4.00, now around $1.1+. Profit and Revenue more than double in Y2008 as compared to Y2007. Y2009 is expected to be higher than Y2008 SGX - low risk. My take, it is a defensive play. if tenants moving out and having difficult to find tenant resulted unable to provide much distribution, it just means economy is in bad shape, so investing in reit and stocks make not much different, both will sink if economy still in bad shape. If economy flatting out, reit still able to maintain some tenant while lose some tenant not that significantly like less than 20-30%, they still can cope with that as the DPU is potential much higher than FD rate, as now they are trading at around 8-10% yield, a drop of 30% of DPU still much higher than FD. So still can sti and get some yield that much higher the FD while waiting for recovery. If economy recover, then don't need to say much lar, but reit price will surely underperform compared to ordinary stock. So whenever assessing reit, watch their borrowing level as well which is the most important factor that enable reit to cruise through the difficult period. A lot of overseas reit tumble heavily due to high value of its property (real estate bubble) which they use those high value property to get borrowing and high leverage on it resulted, when those borrowing due time, they have difficult to pay back as refinancing is difficult due to credit tightening, while facing property price slump which wipe out the value of they were paying previously. |

If your risk appetite is good, go for Gallant venture and Celestial Nutri food!!! Price drop 90% (as compare to pre crisis). Again, this doesn't mean the price can go back to pre crisis. I run out of S'pore bullet jor, else I've dump some (S$3K) in Celestial (when the price is less than 0.10!!!) for goreng! KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced the liberalisation of the services sector, bringing an end to the 30 per cent Bumiputera ownership condition for the sector in an attempt to improve Malaysia's competitiveness in light of the slowing global economy.
Najib, who is also the finance minister, also promised further liberalisation, saying that he would announce details of the liberalisation of the financial sector next week. Reading from a prepared statement the Prime Minister said he expected a greater flow of foreign investments in the services sector which currently forms 11 per cent of total investment. "Recognising the growth potential in the services sector, the government has decided to immediately liberalise 27 services sub-sectors, with no equity condition imposed. These sub-sectors are in the areas of health and social services, tourism services, transport services, business services and computer and related services," said Najib. The government, he added, would also allow foreign legal firms to practice in the country but to only offer services in Islamic finance. "As part of the measures to develop Malaysia as an international Islamic financial hub, the legal profession will be liberalised to allow up to five top international law firms with expertise in international Islamic finance to practice in Malaysia," said Najib. Other services liberalised are in the areas of health and social services, tourism services, transport services, business services and computer and related services. I already inform this counter is moving up since last week in this forum. Last week lionind went up as high as 0.87 before retreat back to 0.84 -0.795. Steel sector show increase in order demand as reported from OSK and CIMB research call for Buy. I pumped my money into Lionind and OSK since last week after swap from Axiata.

I believe after ppl/shark read the news above, they start to buy like crazy when resume trading after lunch break.. The big shark went in wack all low price seller kaw kaw... breaking 0.84.. 0.85..0.86..0.87...0.88.. till 0.92!!!!  Man.. i'm working today and very hard to do trading during work time. I saw the frenzy buying n i oso bought more when price reach 0.88 and sold all at 0.90. Make some peanut profit again coz not yet hit 5 digit profit for this counter. I feel lionind is heading towards its next resistant level 0.95 - 1.00. If market bad, next support level will be 0.85 - 0.80. I will buy back again when its price retreat..  Today OSK still stuck.... 1.15-.1.13... that day break 1.21.. hmmm still have about 7 more days to go for ex-dividen. Hope can fly higher for more peanuts. Yup agree with you ... axreit is the best among all the reits as it is diversified to all range of properties
Besides, they do expand their properties every year which will provide DPS growth compare to other reits which do not expand much....So actually by buying axreit you can enjoy decent dividend and enjoy capital appreciation at the same time... I do research on this counter last time before i bought in.... If i drop back to RM 1.20 level again i will buy kaw kaw this time |

Yeah.. true.. recently Lionind up from 0.60 to 0.87 before come down to 0.80. I also abit worried if the price drop back to 0.80... but after see its price movement last week quite stable around 0.83+/- range and the big vol buyer still nibbing, i do more research n find that the steel sector is improving with more demand so i decided to buy Lionind. Even when Dow Jones drop almost 300pts, lionind still steady around 0.80+/- and din drop much. Today news on AnJoo boost more confidence for ppl to buy steel stock making the price go higher.
Yup sold all my Lionind ... should have sold half but unable to cancel due to bz work .... the shark buyer just wack so fast. Saw the shark coming but stuck with work... dang... After sold all bought back some at 0.88 when the price retreat abit and sell again at 0.895 for contra play. After sold it went up till 0.91 again.  KLSE din drop much.. still showing strength moving up towards 1000 ci. US futures drop but the buying power still strong. US bad news like no much effect on KLSE nowdays. Even T+3 due, the stock price keep on going up. The more longer we wait, the higher price the stock we want to buy up. I wonder whether the May rumours for big drop might be a trick for us to sell our shares so the big fat shark can accumulate and later sell at higher price for us? Funny that reports are saying that the property market and REITS will not perform well this year but their prices keep on going up. Will wait and only buy REITS if they do come down..... Even T+3 due, the stock price keep on going up. The more longer we wait, the higher price the stock we want to buy up. I wonder whether the May rumours for big drop might be a trick for us to sell our shares so the big fat shark can accumulate and later sell at higher price for us? Anyway, I'm gonna be patient. I still have 1/3 stocks left and will wait for the market to drop again..... if they fly higher, I can still be 1/3 happy. Even your defensive stock, MPHB, also flying high..... so is my target, COASTAL.... |

I been waiting for a correction for many days, and yet Dow has a strong floor at 7800. If we keep testing this floor and it never breaks, i am sure that dow will hit 8500.

I bought at 0.925 and 0.945. My colleague side bet at 0.975 and 0.98.
This afternoon after ease down from 1.00 to 0.975... it start to cheong up again to 1.00.. i see most of the heavy buyers enter at 0.975 -0.99 range.. I feel its heading towards its year Oct high 1.10 - 1.20. Wakao.. after 2.30pm start.. Lionind buyer buy at 1.00 for about RM1 million.!!!! Yeah, its a bull run alright. Since Chinese has been aggressively buying our LNG and palm oil, the market has been turning around.
Please watch Chinese futures on copper, iron, soybean... Seems like plantation counters going to have a big rapid climb again. |

One big crash in DJIA and then KLSE will kaput. But looks like DJIA is having good support at 8000 level.
Hope everyone remembers the saying fear when people are greedy! Most stocks are being pushed up without any fundamental basis. Even PN17 status companies are riding the wave. Just make sure jump ship before its sink and dont go down with it. None of the companies issued their financial statement yet.
