With Prepaid, I usually spend around RM70 per month.
But if possible, I would like my coming-Postpaid line to be under RM100.

Yeah, I've heard of it but it's not a Postpaid line, isn't it?

You did mention that ur currently using prepaid. What's more you want cheap call rates and sms. This plan offers both of it

Yes, it is the cheapest prepaid plan. smile.gif

Just get yourself converted to this plan if you are still eligible to do it. Not sure why Maxis wants to close all the conversion so quickly. sweat.gif

Use *100# to change from normal plan to HYC.
RM8 service charge will be deduct from credit balance.

Hey guys,

I'm currently a Maxis postpaid user, and I barely use my phone for local calls/SMS, almost 97% of my monthly bill goes to international SMSes. My gf is in SG so yeah, explains the heavy SMSing.. we sms ALMOST as though we're in the same country, ignoring the RM0.20 sen per sms rate. For her side its $.15. My bills would come up to RM 100ish per month, when I was only using RM50 plan.. parents cant handle that...and I did my research and found most (maybe all actually) international SMS for any plan is flat, RM0.20 per sms. I was wondering what would you guys recommend? Hoping to cut down my monthly international SMS expenditure. Or is there another provider out there, not a local one that may be able to provide cheaper international SMSes?

For those people in long distance relationships, would love to hear your opinions on this!

Anyways, thank you for your time. Any help is really really appreciated. biggrin.gif

My best friend did this when her boyfriend was working in Singapore for the past six months:
1) In Malaysia, she is already under her BF's supplementary line. They are using DiGi that means unlimited free calls/SMS/MMS.
2) Her BF got her a Singaporean number (same telco as his - I presume there is discounted rate or free SMS-es?)

So, her BF will SMS to my best friend's Singaporean number and my friend will reply to her BF's DiGi number using her DiGi supplementary line.

Basically they had two phones each. I think quite a minimal cost incurred in term of monthly billing.

Not sure if this helps but her BF was there was temporary only, now he is back in Malaysia. smile.gif

For calls, they usually use Skype to video and voice conferencing! smile.gif

thanks for the advice fruitie. I'll have to check with digi about this cuz for maxis, if you use your maxis overseas, it's considered roaming. roaming means you're charged at roaming rates which override whatever plan you have in Malaysia.

SMS from SG telco in SG to an SG telco in Malaysia is cheaper?? and vice versa for Malaysia??

gotta check with digi about this. DiGi's supp meaning it's gotta be a prepaid line right?

Not sure about the roaming though, I didn't ask much because she just told me during one of our casual conversations. tongue.gif

Supplementary lines are always postpaid not prepaid BUT DiGi is the first telco in Malaysia that introduces prepaid for supplementary lines too! biggrin.gif

Celcom then. It has the widest coverage and supposedly the strongest coverage as well. smile.gif

Currently using hotlink prepaid, but i plan to jump to prepaid, and i need advice on which telco and which data plan to take. currently i see that celcom and maxis have what i want, but might consider other telcos too.
budget is around rm50. my current prepaid usage is also around rm30-rm50, sometimes more as i tend to online using 3g once in a while. so if the plan has unlimited data usage then it would be good. please advice. thanks.

Hi, I'm wondering if there's anyone here who's on Maxis handphone broadband plan (using phone as a modem). My phone is essentially my mobile modem and I use it as my main source for internet with my unlimited data plan. Lately there seems to be a problem when I surf whereby browsing would be a breeze but when opening certain pages like pop-ups or replying to post in a forum, the page won't open and the 'disgnose connection problem' screen comes out. But browsing on other open tabs is still fast without a hitch. This problem is happening when I surf on both my PC and my phone and it never happens when I'm connected to WiFi so it's probably a Maxis network problem, but I need to confirm, anyone else experienceing the same problem lately? rclxub.gif

Wondering if this is the right place to post this up.
Erm, i am using Maxis postpaid for some time already.
Recently I sub a line for my gf due to heavy usage in terms of calls and sms.
I was wondering actually, as my friend told me that family plan by maxis would mean unlimited call to the sub-line under me.
So, is it true?
By using family package by Maxis, all my calls and sms is free to my sub-line?
Or is it limited amount of hours and sms if free only?
I'm curious so I hope some1 can answer my doubt TQ..

That's postpaid not prepaid. Not sure if that's the SMS rate.
DiGi's DG50, RM 0.13/minute, RM 0.10/SMS to all networks, one flat rate. If Friends N Family (only DiGi numbers) is RM 0.10/minute, RM 0.01/SMS.

No unlimited free calls for Maxis, only 20 hours/month.
At the moment, in Malaysia only DiGi offers free unlimited calls/video calls/SMS/MMS from main to supp lines and among supp lines.
Celcom has 40 hours of free calls.
