next week when they come to Stamford bridge, put some holes in the pitch or shave uneven grasses to prevent barca passing game biggrin.gif, and more wet surface in the wing area to prevent their winger haha tongue.gif.

and we play long ball.

QUOTE(verx @ Apr 29 2009, 01:37 PM)
If you had videos of both games and put them side by side one would realise that Man Utd's gameplan was very different to Chelsea's one and was actually flawed to begin with. Chelsea had a much better shape about them and pressured further up the pitch. The difference was last season's Barca's team were inept and impotent whereas I thought this time against Chelsea they played as well as they could.

I still don't see this tie as advantage Chelsea. If I were a Chelsea fan I would be abit disappointed with the tacitcs used yesterday as they gave relatively no chance for themselves to get an away goal (which is crucial in these European games). Now they go to Stamford Bridge and they surely must try and score which would mean that Barca will get more space to operate. If Barca just score just once I'm afraid it would be a tough hill to climb.

Well, both sides went to the Nou Camp with the highest priority in mind being to keep a clean sheet. Chelsea and United's gameplan were similar in the sense that both of us only really had one player operating high up and we kept it compact at the back. Barca for all their attacking prowess are a very direct side, they carve you to pieces with their quick movement and passes rather than launch long balls for their strikers. Chelsea got stuck in their faces alot more though, the Barca players were falling around the pitch like Jengas. Admittedly though, they contained Messi better than we did, and I dont think Messi will have another bad game like that if he tried. Cech saved them on occasions though, brilliant shot stopping but a bit suspect in dealing with aerial balls.

Guus will defo change the style of play in the 2nd leg. With Puyol and Marquez out Chelsea have got a big chance to knock in a few.

SLAVEN BILIC has emerged as a shock contender to become Chelsea’s new boss.
What do u guys think? According to The Sun, Kenyon already make contact with this guy. Thou i prefer Klinsman or Marco Van Basten. Somebody who can speak proper English pls!

How I wish Hiddink will stay on. He has done quite a good job I reckon.

Klinsmann no-no. Slaven Bilic has alot of talent, I wouldnt mind giving him a try. But having GH to stay on is a dream come true.

I wonder when Ashley's back for the 2nd leg at SB, would Bosingwa or Ivanovic taking the RB position. Since,Ivanovic and Boss both done well marking Henry and Messi today.

Glad that our signings this season have been of better use - ivanovic, bosingwa and malouda.

Deco is underutilised after a great start

biggest 'surprise package' for me could go to ivanovic..anyone agrees? heard a few loud murmurs of discontent in the early part of his stint here, then all of a sudden he's nailed down a starting berth. impressive. i wonder if he'll settle for being bosingwa's backup though. but another option that i'd love to see explored is utilising bosingwa as a right winger. he's got pace, he can dribble/cross..heck he can even defend if need be..so why not?
only problem is anelka and kalou won't be too happy.

Hiddink sure looks like the best manager for chelsea at the momment. But he has an obligation ato russia and i really doubt he will break his promise as it will make him look really bad if he does

He had announced that his term as Chelsea boss will end this summer. He will need to concentrate on preparing Russian Team for the World Cup.

croatia's coach. has quite a reputation. however there's a slight fear of another 'scolari' happening in my opinion. so i don't think he's first choice.
the papers today have pushed ancelotti as favourite to take over again. guess we'll never know till' its a done deal.

wowwwweeeeeeee have u guys been reading the papers? 'ugly chelsea' plastered all over the back pages..dirty!thugs!negative!cheats!anti-football!rapists!killers!serial molesters! okay the last three i made up..but the rest were pretty much the affectionate terms used to describe us.
but i seem to recall alex ferguson and rafa benitez hailed as 'brilliant mastermind tacticians FTW' when their teams pulled it off. ahh media bias always amazes me.part and parcel of being a chelsea fan of course. Carefree~! flex.gif

If you have read the British papers, they were praising and hailing Chelsea's defence last night in Nou as the best ever.
