Gotta say, well done to Chelsea for going to the Camp Nou and getting the job done. Like I said in the United thread, it was in a way similar to the gameplan we had when we traveled there. Will Drogba rue his miss as much as Ronaldo's penalty miss? We'll have to wait and see. Still, Guus showed what a tactician he was and the players were very disciplined. Kudos.

QUOTE(verx @ Apr 29 2009, 01:37 PM) If you had videos of both games and put them side by side one would realise that Man Utd's gameplan was very different to Chelsea's one and was actually flawed to begin with. Chelsea had a much better shape about them and pressured further up the pitch. The difference was last season's Barca's team were inept and impotent whereas I thought this time against Chelsea they played as well as they could. I still don't see this tie as advantage Chelsea. If I were a Chelsea fan I would be abit disappointed with the tacitcs used yesterday as they gave relatively no chance for themselves to get an away goal (which is crucial in these European games). Now they go to Stamford Bridge and they surely must try and score which would mean that Barca will get more space to operate. If Barca just score just once I'm afraid it would be a tough hill to climb. Added on April 29, 2009, 1:38 pmLet's just hope we do you guys a favour this weekend by running them even more tired Well, both sides went to the Nou Camp with the highest priority in mind being to keep a clean sheet. Chelsea and United's gameplan were similar in the sense that both of us only really had one player operating high up and we kept it compact at the back. Barca for all their attacking prowess are a very direct side, they carve you to pieces with their quick movement and passes rather than launch long balls for their strikers. Chelsea got stuck in their faces alot more though, the Barca players were falling around the pitch like Jengas. Admittedly though, they contained Messi better than we did, and I dont think Messi will have another bad game like that if he tried. Cech saved them on occasions though, brilliant shot stopping but a bit suspect in dealing with aerial balls. Guus will defo change the style of play in the 2nd leg. With Puyol and Marquez out Chelsea have got a big chance to knock in a few.

Defo feel for you lot. About two or three clear cut penalty calls tonight and you got robbed at the dead.
