switch ur phone to gsm mode if u r not using 3g.. as using dual mode will propt the phone to search for 3g line when ever possible.. considering 3g coverage in m'sia is not tat wide yet unless u r using celcom it is best to jus switch to gsm only.. which will sav ur battery life considerably.

to all fellow E71 enthusiasts: has anyone ever told you that they received an engage tone or got their call forwarded to voicemail when they tried to contact you, although your phone wasn't in use at that time and had full reception?

In other words: there has been a couple of occasions where I got an engage tone when I tried to call my own phone. It was weird, because my phone was just sitting idle next to me, with full bar reception! After 2 - 3 attempts, then it finally rings. Worrying at the same time too, considering that I might have missed some important calls.

I'm using an ori avaxx set with maxis line, firmware 210.021.006, default settings everything, and no 3rdparty apps installed.

Anyone else experienced this? My previous phone was a Nokia 5210 using the same sim card, and had no such problems.

Have u tried restarting yr phone? I have no idea what kind of glitch is this. Even i have 1 bar i also able to receive calls.

by restarting, do you mean just power off and then power on? sorry noob here

If so I have done that, but the problem still appears every now and then. And yeah, I have also received (and made) calls with only one bar reception, which is why I'm confused about this problem.

yes power off then on back. Sometimes could be telco problem.

r ur e71 having an 3g or e symbol on ur top left? if so maybe ur phone is online or retrieving email or something lor.. usually when u r online using ur phone u might not able retrieve cal.. i hav tat problem as well if i m surfing on my phone .. but i got divert my cals to another no. so i still receive my cals..

r u telling me that garmin is running on background? even after i exit it? does this drain battery fast?

the camera is not bad actually. have u ever used 'T' button for autofocus? or try setting while taking picture? my complaint only that it is not so good at night.

yeah, I've got the 3G symbol on my top left, but I don't think I am retrieving emails because I haven't set up any email accounts. In fact, I don't think my phone is accessing the internet at all, because there are no apps running in the background.

I am going to try and swap to a new sim card tomorrow. I did some research on this problem and found this link. Apparently a few more people were facing this problem, and swapping to a new sim card helped them solve it.

I hope that'll be the answer to my problem, as I can't be stuffed to send my phone in for warranty...
