Ya i m curious also.. Is the cert and key stuff illegal? Technically it is not hacking and no warez involves.. Jus get the cert and key from a chinese forum. Download freesigner .. Utilize the cert and key.. Wala.. U free to install everything u need provided u sign ur software.. Well which part of the guide violated hacking and warez law? Can it be bout the cert and key? Since it is not from nokia? Mod .. U can delete tis if it violate the rules..

it is not but u are signing an illegal application file. Only most unPaid software required signing.

i think it's the other way round. most paid software is already signed by the developer. they protect with serial and etc (e.g. garmin). most freeware developers don't have the cost to make their program signed.

anyway, symbiansigned now already changed their policies. please visit the new https://www.symbiansigned.com/

Signing an application is just something like a security layer to protect users from rogue applications.

If a developer applies to sign his app, it is gone through a verification process to ensure the app has access to the phone's services as advertised, and not more.

The user can opt to install non-signed apps, but it will then open to risks of rogue apps.

A user may also attempt to sign an app himself which at least gives the user the option to check what services the app has access to.

i'm still not sure whether signing is not allowed. rclxub.gif
however some free softwares also need to sign so that it will be compatible to phone.

Hey ppl,

Is it possible to run ActiveX contents on the E71? Like the ones that you run on Internet Explorer in some websites.

I tried to install ActiveX components in the built-in Nokia browser and in Opera Mini, but zero success sad.gif
