any Nokia Email users here? lately i realise that the emails take quite long to push to my handphone. and off and on it cannot even connect to the mail servers.

anyone of you got same prob?

p/s: whenever i use my phone to browse the web using wi-fi. my nokia messaging some how hangs....it doesn't sync anymore. i have to shutdown the application and restart it again.

is there any other better push mail application out there which is free?

sigh, i think lately i've been unfaithful.

My customer's place is full of blackberries and every other person is using one. Makes my E71 feel so out muscled....lol

now i'm contemplating if i should get a blackberry of the E72. optical trackball/trackpad is nice!!! im tired of using the d-pad to navigate.

y ur e71 is out muscle? just becos of the trackpad on blackberries?

not only that. i think their email app interface is much better than ours.

Nokia Email is buggy at times, well it's free as for now so i guess i cannot demand too much.

but overall the usage experience as a business phone is somewhat or rather more delightful compared to the E71.

and not to mention the QWERTY keypad is much better than ours...

Sigh!!! and my customer is playing the song rihanna unfaithful for me to listen now...ehehhehee bugger!

well .. how bout u install emoze and giv it a try on ur e71 emoze download from ur phone.. Emoze is a big player in the push email business and they are currently making waves. They have pushed the biggest dog out of the way by beating Blackberry at it's own game, Emoze can deliver email faster then Blackberry.
It's nice to see email companies bridging the gap between work and play. Emoze can also connect to the following email types:

- Outlook
- Gmail
- Hotmail
- Facebook messaging
- Your own home or ISP email account
- OWA Corporate email
*
ok thanks, will try out emoze.

Nokia Email still needs alot of improvement.

Hey xavi. I installed emoze for my work mail. Surprisingly not bad. Will use it for my work mail only and nokia email for my personal mail. I think nokia email goes kuku aka hang when my work mail is in there.

for translation, 'ku ku' mean hang/sot2/bingung/lag...
*
Lol bro, why so scared ppl don't know what is kuku? Hehe

as for the a-gps, just keep it on ler...doesn't cost much. ask urself, how often you use ur GPS? ur not gonna use it everyday rite? few cents each time only ler.

but then i'm on unlimited data plan so i really don't know whats the exact amount if you were to keep agps on. i'm assuming it's worth it ler.

just realised something silly about emoze. when i mark multiple messages, I will not have to option to Mark As Read.

i need to select one message a time to be able to have the option to Mark As Read.

This is really turning me off.

ok thanks. will try it out.

OH, and another problem i found out about emoze.

When you write an Email, it will appear as you're typing a text, with multiple row of lines like a notepad right? The damn words don't appear on top of the line properly. sometimes the line will cut across the words that you type. and since i'm OCD. this is really irritating me!!! arGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGgg.

ok here the download site for msn-->window live
regarding data usage.. i m not sure.. but i dont think there is any differences as if u choose fring, u can choose to log in to msn only.. like me i use ebuddy, i log in to msn only..
regarding the dictionary: i m not sure.. as i m not on asian firmware.. i m on brasil firmware.. so i dont hav the chinese dictionary.. but i heard it is pretty much useless.. most of the time u will be using the default english 1.. which also allow u to install chinese, and indonesian

regarding the theme.. i don use tat theme.. most of my theme is from pizaro and bab1..

hey xavi,

got any nice dark coloured and elegant looking E71 theme which is free?

greenland i installed before like it very much. but then did you realise at the top right corner beside the battery bar, the helix looking line don't match? hehehe

since i'm an OCD freak, i uninstalled it. Currently I'm using Enterprise One by Tehkseven and Silver from PiZero.

p/s: i prefer default icon themes as i find the Ovi style icon's does not suit the Enterprise/Elegant looking E71. Ovi style icon's look abit comic cum fun. better suited in those Music Xpress edition Nokia phones. just my 2 cents tongue.gif

All Nokia Symbian devices that ship with Quickoffice will receive a free update to the latest edition of Quickoffice 6

This Nokia sponsored program will provide complete Word, Excel and PowerPoint '97 to 2007 viewing support, as well as many other new features, and also offers most users the optional ability to purchase support for document editing.

Selected Nokia Eseries devices will additionally receive editing support with a free Quickoffice Premier 6 update. All updates are available via Quickmanager™, Quickoffice's secure in-application download manager. Learn more

Quickoffice is extremely happy to announce that Quickoffice Premier 6.2 and Quickoffice 6.2 (free viewer) are now available through Quickmanager. This release is now live. Quickoffice Premier 6.2 is also available to purchase online at www.quickoffice.com.

New features in Quickoffice Premier 6.2 include:

•  Touch editing - support for S60 5th edition devices
•  Support for viewing .pptx files
•  Fully localized in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish
•  A new look - new icons in the touch toolbars, new application icons, and a fresher file manager look

Quickoffice Premier 6 also includes:

•  Viewing for Excel® 2007 Charts

To see the Quickoffice 6 updates available for your device, please open Quickoffice on your device and select Quickmanager (Updates and Upgrades). If you do not see the new offers, please select Options > Refresh Catalog.

Compatibility:

•  Microsoft Office version support; 97, 2000, XP, 2003, & 2007

i don't see any IM in nokia messaging yet though. so far using it to get push mail for my gmail and hotmail account.

i think they wanna make it something like Blackberry's internet service.

you know anything abt the Nokia Messaging's IM? let me know also ok?

thanks

hehe yeah will let u guys know. I dont own a nokia e71 yet. planning to get it next month or so.

so now just researching. just wann ask u guys, the nokia messaging service . I ll put a situation that you guys can help me to understand a bit.

lets say the nokia messaging service I use my Gmail account , go to nokia site and register and all. So lets say, I send an email to my gmail account.

So, e71 will get a notification right. SO my question is what notification will I see? will I see, who is the sender and the subject of the email??

OR will I see, the sender, the email subject and the body of the email as well?

So that is question 1. Question 2, if can I actually reply the email from nokia messaging? or the service is just to let u know u have an email?

sorry if this question sounds a bit silly..
*
Question 1:-
You will see something like this at your Home Screen:
-----------------------------
1 New in Gmail
<Email Subject>
-----------------------------

you won't see who's the sender. just a notification showing you that you have a new mail and what is the subject of the mail.

you can click on it, then it will bring you into your Main Mail inbox and you can then proceed to opening the email message.

Questio n 2:-
Yes you can reply the email from Nokia Messaging. It is a full fledge email application, just like Emoze, Blackberry Internet Service, Seven, etc etc.

QUOTE(seale_navy @ Aug 3 2009, 12:53 AM)
so the nokia messaging only differs in one way.

nokia messaging push the email straight to u like SMS, rather than setting up a pop3 account with gmail that uses gprs/edge/3G that needs to download the email?

so no cost for nokia messaging to push the email to you?

Also, wanna ask is my gmail gets lots of email into the spam folder. So if I register for nokia messaging, will it notify me I have an email eventhough that particular email is destined to be in my spam folder in my gmail?
*
you got it half correct smile.gif

yes, the difference is that instead of downloading your mail at a specified polling interval, you can now have Nokia Messaging push it to you whenever you have a new mail. But none the less, it will still cost you data charges when Nokia Messaging pushes the mail to you. push/pull, still considered data transfer. Else how the push mail reach to your phone? smile.gif

as long as it's email, think data charges. same goes for Blackberry or any push mail.
