I still think the ultraportable notebook is awesome. Should I wait then for intel cheaper ULV cpu?....

Or maybe the MSI X-slim (good MBA copy) which has a Core 2 Solo ULV processor. brows.gif

I was planning to buy this model at first at the pc fair but decided to go for the CQ20 instead.

DV2's design is nice but AMD neo processor is slight better than atom and lower than celeron M.

how do u check the temperature?

CPUID Hardware Monitor or Speedfan.

But if it's hot, flash the BIOS.

rockdaman...besides bios updates, have you try setting your power to "power saver". Do that and see if your battery life increase with your normal usage (non-video watching) and heat reduces.

i have updated the bios and the average temperature reading as following:

chipset: 60'c
cpu : 30'c
graphic card: 60'c
hardisk : 35'c

i m surprise to see the cpu's temperature at such reading...but not the chipset and gc....

hi all, i have just bought a dv2 but i am having some doubts on the laptop:

1. the sound only coming out from the left side of the speaker but not the right. Any other user experience the same thing or my speaker is faulty.
2. the laptop is freaking hot and my system is delaying for few seconds to respond. I m suspecting the hardisk is over heated.

Any other owner can share the experience. Thank you.

My dv2 also facing the sound problem... the sound like very loud on left side.... did u ask HP about this problem???
I turn off the surround setting... it like normal abit....

Neo's definitely better, some benchmarks show about 30% faster than Atom. But what makes this baby shine is the Graphics Card.

One thing I have problem with Atom netbooks (except for the ASUS N10 series, with it's Nvidia 9300m) is it can't play 720p videos properly. DV2 can play 1080p no prob.

The hanging yourself part is really because of Vista. Anyone here has reformated with XP?

Salutations.

Found out that M'sian models doesn't have the HSDPA modem.

Other than that, overall satisfaction is 4/5 due to :

1) Ok-lah performance. Photoshop is a breeze but multitasking is agony.
2) Fingerprint prone. The DV2 comes package with a polishing cloth, but not enough to really polish the glossy black finish.

Is it worth the buy? Yes, 'cause of its affordable price.
Whats more there's the white version which is much more beautiful.

Faster than Intel Atom but the TDP is 15W, which is almost 6 times more than Intel Atom

720p is ok, but 1080p is no-no for Atom... anyway, Atom with GN40 (the latest chipset), 1080p is ok, but somehow, Intel say it cannot decode BD movies...

dv2 with the HD 3410, no problem with all formats... anyway, Athlon Neo is faster than Atom also...
