nope, that will not happen...

already Intel is upset with Nvidia's Ion platform for Atom... many major players in the market dun bother making the mobo at all as they dun want to spoil their relationship with Intel... only the smaller ones are willing to do so (eg Zotac, AsRock...)

many China brand netbook use Ion, but hell, in the worldwide market, only hear Lenovo (Ideapad S12 Netbook) and Acer (Aspire Revo Nettop) do so... but even that, never see them in market also...

so Yukon and Congo are basically rit on the weak spot of Intel Atom... graphic and CPU performance, especially HD acceleration... if Nvidia has it's way, Intel won't be lowering the price of C2D SU and C2S SU to come up with CULV...

true also...but amd with ati..if intel din find a partner for dedicated gpu to defend, only depend on its own integrated gpu, those light gamers wil go for amd...who knows intel will got new strategic soon... at the moment, i still think amd+ati is quite a good trial...tats why intel now lower the price to defend but still not good enough..for sure will got new thing come out very soon since congo is on its way..

s12 just launching recently while revo nettop not yet hear any news.. but for sure will come soon.. so we got more and more choice...

actually, Aspire Revo was announced like 4 mths ago already... sweat.gif so u get the picture...

that's part of the reason y Intel needs it's Larrabee also... but heck, they need Nvidia's help in the driver, and yet they are now in a court case... but well, Nvidia's the one who's desparate though as they dun ve any CPU to lead the chipset market...

as things go on, i think AMD is the one who'll benefit... laugh.gif

ah well, that was long enuf...

in a few mths' time Ion will be obselete as Intel launches Pinetrail, the new Atom with graphic and memory controller integrated in the CPU...

so u can see Intel is determined to hinder the sale of Ion...

early adopters, thx for your input. looks like i won't be buying a dv2. ahaha.

neo dual core just add 25USD. from hp us site.

yea, i use crystalcpuid to undervolt.
try undervolting the gpu. since the gpu is the weaklink here. neo is only 15watt TDP.
the notebook probably shares the heatsink. venting out the palm rest is just dumb.
i guess they don't want crotch speakers.

i know atom can do 720p. not 1080p.

some of my 1080p encodes breaks hardware decoder. over9000 reference frames ahaha.
anyone can try 1080p decoding through cpu? with coreavc.

i will still wait for amd cos of its dedicated gpu..intel should come out with dedicated gpu too...nowadays most of them is integrated.. so amd benefit from it.. i believe if intel got the almost same spec like amd, most of the ppl will still go for intel as it is quality assure and also less heat produce...
i am still waiting to see how much dv2 congo dual-core sell in msia..hopefully before end of july ... tongue.gif

sweat.gif

problem is, even AMD's integrated graphic is much better than Intel's... laugh.gif

i AM really doubtful wat Intel can offer for graphic... afterall,, it's not really easy to break into the market of dedicated graphic...

anyone know how to install window 7 into this DV2?

is it dual boot after install it? means vista and win 7 coexist.

i think quite complicated to install other OS, cos CD rom is external. and USB cannot be detected unless there is an OS.

hi,just wondering if anyone with dv2 is having the problem where wireless networks cannot be detected as listed
here
'The following symptoms apply to Pavilion dv2000 and Presario v3000 notebooks:

*
The notebook does not detect wireless networks and the wireless adapter is not detected in the Device Manager.
*
There is no video on the computer LCD panel or external monitor.

anyone have issue with their DV2 ? I always have problem connecting to my home wireless .. Signal detected but always having issue connect to it.

Vista is not really user friendly when it come to wireless connection. Anyone have broadcom software to replace the Vista connection manager like those in WinXP ?

Hi, I'm waiting for the AMD Neo Athlon Turionx2 model.

Any idea when will it available in Malaysia? and any idea about the cost? HP claims extra US75, which should be 2400 + 267 (75x3.56) about RM2667.
Have anyone hear of any issues about HP DV2?

Can it play the Terminator IV?

No you cant since the neo is a low profile (ultra thin) chip designed for ultra portable laptop and the cpu comes in bga package not the socket type.. Its soldered on the mobo. smile.gif
