Wouldn't it cause the macbook to overheat when you use it together with the casing since the temperature airflow area is blocked?

Hello Lowyat Retina Macbook Pro user,
Before this I had lotsa problem putting my palm on the laptop pads because im afraid it is dirty, haha yes i paid lotsa money into the Retina model of course i'm taking care of it to the fullest, not even a single fingerprint should be on my laptop screen.

So one of our forumer did a sale on Retina Macbook Pro palmguard, I think he's the first seller in LYN to do this because to find Palmguard for RMBP is a little troublesome ..

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2501431 > here's the topic. Just in case those who wanna get it to take good care of their retina macbookpro.

Some images of me applying it..

Using Kinjio sleeve for my 13 inch MBP
Bought it just because the design is pretty nice but don't really recommend it as its really loose (obviously) LOL

Since i don't bring my MBP out that much, i'm fine with it

I used it before on my MBA 13 previously. Doesn't scratch the body once already installed.

But you may cause scratches when putting the case on and removing it.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012): Do not use palm rest covers
Products Affected
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)

Symptoms
Leaving palm rest covers or other material on the palm rest surface of your computer could result in damage to the display when you close it.

Resolution
To enable thin design, the clearance between the display and the palm rest area is engineered to tight tolerances. Do not use palm rest covers as the added thickness may interfere with the designed resting position of the display.

As a best practice, keep the palm rest clear of any material.

If the palm rest sticker is thinner than 1mm, I don't think it will affect the screen because the rubber at the edge of the screen that acts as cushion between the screen panel and the body has at least 1mm thickness. As long the cover is big enough to rest under the rubber and not inside when you close the lid, it should be safe.

But then, if you think back, Apple definitely made some researches throughly before making those statement, they won't simply making statements knowing that it would influence the sales of those accessories makers. I still think it's best to follow their recommendation.
