QUOTE(wiraone @ Sep 26 2011, 12:50 PM) Check out the sellers in Garage Sales section, got an OEM X25M 160GB for RM500, only a month warranty though. Works great on my mid-2010 MBP .. the boot up is cut down to only 5sec .. and launching application is a snap too. are you sure its only 5 seconds? Vertex 3 also takes around 12 seconds

QUOTE(multiplexer @ Sep 28 2011, 05:25 PM) ya laa.. make sense also.. it should be expected. more rpm, more heat and more vibe feel.. im still looking at the battery consumption, no diff so far.. still can get more than 5 hours on a single charge + using ethernet.. in terms of speed difference, is it a lot?

QUOTE(al3p @ Oct 2 2011, 09:04 PM) yeah. almost half the price (for the data doubler). I think they have a promotion or something. You can check it at the macsales. There are few bundle i.e ssd+data bundler, ssd+casing, ssd+datadoubler+ external optical drive enclosure he is referring to bulk SSD order. the price is the same

QUOTE(D.Sync @ Oct 5 2011, 11:30 AM) Hey guys I'm planning to upgrade my MBP 2011 13' memory to 8GB. Is there any recommendation on the compatibility for various vendors? I'm thinking of Kingston (for best value) or Corsair (for best performance, 1600 MHz?) but was worry about compatiblity issue as some pointed out on G.Skillz RAMs. value rams are all the same. only performance ram has difference I'm using KVR, no problems so far using 3 months

QUOTE(D.Sync @ Oct 6 2011, 04:18 PM) Is there the need to purchase Apple Certified RAM instead of normal one? Like Mushkin, there are both Apple Certified (brand # 976647) and non Apple Certified (brand #991647). The price for Apple Certified one are double than that of non-certified. So hard trying to figure out a suitable and relatively priced RAM for the upgrade to 8GB. just get kingston KVR, many tried and said its okay. including me

KVR is much much more cheaper than KTA. don't even know whats the point of selling KTA when KTV works fine on Apple Computers

QUOTE(izzi_guy @ Feb 20 2012, 12:13 PM) please take note that..KVR rams doesnt work as same like the ram manufactured for apple..the response is slightly slower.. i did on my new model mac mini..and i notice its slightly slower to respond. if comparing to the value of money, it is still acceptable. cheap ram but slow performance. how about KTA compared to apple stock ram?

QUOTE(ejat666 @ Apr 9 2012, 06:38 AM) Hi guys, I have a few questions regarding iMac 2011 ram since I'm planning to upgrade the existing 4GB to 12GB ( add another 2X4GB stick ); 1. Any recommended brand? 2. Where can i find shop that sells 2X4GB kit around selangor / kl? Most of them just sell single 4GB stick. 3. http://www.lelong.com.my/crucial-4gb-1333m...3-02-Sale-P.htm - Will this work as dual channel since i bought it separately ( not 2X4GB kit ). I've read somewhere that dual channel 2x4GB kit ram is compatible & has been tested by manufacture to pair together, unlike separate stick. Is it true? TQ! 1. Kingston KTA 2. try garage sales section, i came across a few sellers

QUOTE(feins @ Apr 17 2012, 04:16 PM) For non critical data you can setup raid 0 for speed and performance. For critical data you better go for raid 5 for descent performance and speed. is this Raid applicable for Macbook with 2 disks?

QUOTE(chanti-sama @ Apr 24 2012, 09:02 PM) Mainly virtualization n development work for deployment environment. Is it very expensive? macsales is selling for $204.99 if you get it in local stores it will cost nearly Rm1000 i believe 8GB should be sufficient unless you're willing to pay for the 16GB

QUOTE(Masamune @ Apr 26 2012, 03:33 AM) is this considered apple ram? Corsair Apple 8 GB Dual Channel Kit DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) 204-Pin DDR3 Laptop SO-DIMM Memory CMSA8GX3M2A1066C7 Added on April 26, 2012, 4:49 amI'm also upgrading my HDD to SSD. But i'm having trouble choosing. At first i plan to go for the Vertex 3, but vertex 4 just came out so i'm having second thoughts. Some users online says that the Samsung 830 is better. Any advice? CMSA8GX3M2A1066C7 is a Apple Certified Ram. I do sell it also. For SSD, i saw reviews on the new SanDisk Extreme. Really cheap and it has a Sandforce controller
