QUOTE(x-199Tx @ Aug 25 2011, 08:30 AM) wow , i didnt know its roughly that price . seriously mind as well upgrade to ssd . increase speed too + less cost yea, 8GB used to be that price. but at that time, most laptops are fitted with 2GB. and it was the time of DDR2 even a 240GB SSD 500mb/s read and write only cost RM1300

QUOTE(gcwc @ Sep 1 2011, 11:41 AM) I am also facing the same situation Asked a few reseller but they alwiz say there's no guarantee and no trying..... get it from Jayacom, they let me try and gave me 14 days to test it. if it doesn't work perfectly in the 14 days they would have gave me a refund. but it turns out to be working fine

QUOTE(x-199Tx @ Sep 1 2011, 03:54 PM) @BRY7 KVR = Kingston ValueRAM = Generic KTA = Kingston Apple = guaranteed compatible with Mac still the price is too much of a difference. i bought KVR 2 weeks ago for only RM69/4GB stick no problems so far till now, only too fast when multitasking This post has been edited by BRY7: Sep 1 2011, 03:58 PM

QUOTE(x-199Tx @ Sep 1 2011, 03:58 PM) Erm so far there ain't anyone having an issue with KVR ( not as far as I know of ) But guess to make me feel more secured I would go for the KTA not everyone would pay for the premium price. even Corsair have Apple Certified rams, around the same price as KTA

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Sep 8 2011, 09:27 PM) i bought the momentus xt for my mbp before. for some reason the performance become worse and worse after a few weeks. i got it RMA'd, but the second one also faced similar issue. sold it off n bought a hitachi travelstar 5k500 instead. im probably the only one here with that issue though. i know a few forumers here using the momentus xt without problems your crucial ram should work some macs do come with the same micron chip that corsair use (well at least they used to, dunno nowadays) 7200rpm... rpm means revolutions per minute. so 7200rpm drive spins more than a 5400rpm drive. will the faster spinning speed damage the disk quicker?

SSD start up should be around 10-15 seconds. depending on which SSD models. fastest ones are OCZ Vertex 3 and OCW Mercury Electra 6G
