White good or Black?

White easier to get dirty?

Both plastic also susceptible for scratches?(I mean at the back case)

Susceptibility to scratches is not reliant on colour. But it is more obvious if it is black. Of course, the phone being dirty depends on how one takes care of the unit and what protection he/she has on it.

If I get the 16gb, I will go for white too until I read this:

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php...ht=iPhone+Crack

Pls check yrs if you hv this problem.

But if you can afford 16gb, go for it as I've got only 2.5G left now out of my 8gb with lotsa albums and only 2 movies.

Lol, my thread was closed by MOD due to repetitive, Lets continue here:

Tinkerbell recommend me to buy a black IP 3G instead of White one.

But it din solve the problem rite? just the crack less noticable...

I kinda like WHITE IP 3G though... is there any solution?

For Maxis IP 3G, are they still offering the defected IP3G that suffers housing cracks?

I going to purchase one from Apple Premium Reseller this friday, please advise me on this issue.

Thank you.

What's there to worry..i own a 3G iPhone White and i don't even have a single hairline crack. If you are worried about getting hairline cracks on the iPhone, both black and white are made with the same material and they will have the same results.

Again, if you're paranoid, get black. Simple solution. If you're going for White, then just go get it and be happy on your purchase. There's always warranty if anything goes wrong with Apple resellers or via Maxis.

Of course you can dude. They provide 1 year warranty and you can send it back to them for an exchange. When your warranty expires, we have hardware gurus to help in this forum. So no worries mate. Relax. Just go get your 3G iPhone White and be happy. Don't go crazily insane with those news.

You can ask Stringfellow as he owns a 3G iPhone White and i don't see him complaining. His iPhone is still in pristine condition. Also, there's 86 forumers with 3G iPhone White: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/97633 I don't hear complains from them.

Go get yourself a good casing too for extra protection for your new 3G iPhone.

I think it depends on how you use your iphone, some ppl will take good care and some dont, when one does not take care of their phone i.e. sitting on it, compress it in the pocket, dropping it, or rough handling it, i think what phone you buy will end up having damages at the end.

If this cracking issue is a well known "flaw" or "defect", I am sure Apple would have already recalled the 1st batch from July 08 to be replaced or repaired, but till now no such recall has been announced by Apple, so I take it as the users own problem in handling the iphone that causes such cracks.

BTW, I am using white iphone and have absolutely no complains or cracking either. Am one satisfied and happy iphone user.

My black is working fine too but perhaps if it's black in colour, hairline crack is not so visible.

I used a 10X magnifier tool used by watch technician to check my black 3G case, so far, no cracks. I checked under very very bright sunlight. U use a normal magnifine glass and try checking yrself.

I not yet OWN an IP 3G before... but for common sense wise, white IP hairline crack look more apparent if compare with black IP, thus giving an advantage to earlier one-to-one exchange with APR.

I now waiting incoming Friday for my WHITE 16GB iphone... and going for moshi ipouch... RM2500 + 105... there goes my RM2.6k...
