QUOTE(grein @ Apr 6 2009, 03:14 PM) it annoys the heck out of me, that i have to keep deleting items each time that i have to sychronise my iPhone.hence for the next generation of iPhone, i'm definitely getting the maximum capacity feasible. no more contemplating about saving that few hundred bucks for the sake of it. anyway update for OS 3.0 (since the second beta is out), you can now have 11 pages of applications on the springboard (instead of the usual 9). and if you include the bottom 4 icons, you can have a total of 180 apps!!! (i will also be including this piece of information in the "OS3.0 + "Next-gen" iPhone Speculations" thread) |

Well, the 16gb has the advantage of coming in white.
But like most of the sifu's here, I don't regret getting the 8gb over the 16gb. Honestly, the only thing that takes up tons of storage space is video. I'm at 500megs for mp3's, 1.5 gigs for apps, that's still 6 gigs of space for video, more than enough cos you won't have enough battery to play all 6 gigs on the road anyway. |

I'm a iPhone 2g - 8g user for almost 1-1/2 yrs now. 1 have 5 pgs of apps + 1 pg of games + 14 full-length albums + 500++ photos and about 1000 contacts in my phone now and I still have more than 4g of free space to go.... And trust me, of all the apps that I have, I consistantly use less than 10 of them. Do I need a 16g? Not at the moment. Do you need one? Well, you judge it yourself.... Never the less, it's a damn good phone... Cheers!

There's no better as it's just the space difference. Like many forumers advice, if your budget is tight, get a 8gb one. But if you have extra budget, go for a 16gb.
But again, it all depends on what you wanna do with your phone. Do you only make phone calls and text from your phone? Or do you play games? Or it's the Wifi feature that you're looking for in an iPhone. Or because you want it for its iPod feature? If it's only the phone, text and Wifi feature that you are looking for, 8gb will be more than enough. But if you're more to the gamer side, a 16gb will be more advisable. I got myself a 16gb one because I really make full use of my phone. As a portfolio for my photography jobs, music, videos and games to keep me entertain while waiting for client. ![]() So bottom line is you'll have to decide what you wanna do with your phone. From there you'll know the answer of which to get. |

well, if you plan to put wikipedia (via wikitouch) inside your iphone, 16G is mandatory.
I installed and it takes 5G+. So 8G is definitely never enoughhhh |

Uh ok I posted a few weeks ago that 8gb was enough for me ... now I'm not so sure.
I've started putting up a lot of TV shows to watch on the road on my iPhone and video takes up a LOT of space. Just got a few chris rock specials and half a season of Chuck and already the 8gb is used up ... |

I guess I'll be thinking like you as well if I didn't have an iPod Touch 16GB as well. That's what I load up with movies and stuff for longer trips, and its always in my bag anyways.I've started putting up a lot of TV shows to watch on the road on my iPhone and video takes up a LOT of space. QUOTE(deepan84 @ May 3 2009, 12:15 PM) You can have 30-40 apps/games and it does not affect the batt unless they are constantly used. Some users play games and drain their batt in a day(as some charge their iPhone twice a day) while some only launch apps needed and still have 2-3 days of batt usage. Current longest usage is 2 days 17hrs with 9 percent batt left. This post has been edited by davidgary73: May 3 2009, 12:27 PM |
