The fact is, we don't even use up to 10-15 apps on the PC so I've no idea how people could use up to 40-60 on an iPhone

QUOTE(deepan84 @ May 3 2009, 04:18 PM) if ur on maxis data package, its better to keep ur 3g on at all times rite. but dat runs down d batt. so ur not really usin ur 3g to its full potential. Actually you can turn it off (it'll automatically switch to Edge) but when you want to download your mails, surf the net, etc then have 3G on. Having 3G all the time really drains off the battery life |

Having 3G all the time really drains off the battery life But I thought as long as its not transmitting or transfer data, having 3G on will not really affect battery life? I know about the near far phenomenon though (2G will always be more power efficient). Actually I had the phone connected on 3G with just 1-2 bars of reception and I have been receiving and dialing a couple of calls including sms, my battery is still full (according to indicator). Or maybe its not accurate? |

It doesn't behave that way apparently. Even on my old N95, having 3G turned on would drain more battery. What you can do is full charge the phone, on the first time turn on 3G whole day to see how long it last and the next time, turn it off.
I've tried it out and having 3G on would make me charge my phone every night without fail or I would run out of battery the next day |

I know on the iPhone 3G connecting to WIFI for surfing, chatting and FB-ing would drain the battery at a faster rate.I've tried it out and having 3G on would make me charge my phone every night without fail or I would run out of battery the next day |

It will quite drain my battery when i keep on my 3G. I have been do some testing on my iphone and i find out if i turn off the 3G service, the battery life (after the full charge) will stand for at lease 2days even i always use the iphone for listen music or make the call.I've tried it out and having 3G on would make me charge my phone every night without fail or I would run out of battery the next day |

Personally for me, the only reason I would need the extra capacity is for my Itunes collection.. Unfortunately, since the largest capacity is only 16gb, that wasn't enough for my entire song collection so i am happy with my 8gb and it just means i have to be more selective with my songs.
In terms of apps i only really play bejeweled 2 on it so i guess i don't really need the space. |

Do you actually listen to all 16gb of songs though o_o
I only have a few hundred megs of music on my iphone. My entire collection in my PC is like 40 gigs (been collecting since the days of dialup, aha), but 90+% of them I don't listen anymore so I never bothered putting it on my phone. |

Waa..don't thought this thread will be so informative at the first glance. But really useful with lots of opinion instead. Makes me think to change to Iphone...with the most affordable price range one, of course. Go for 8GB!

QUOTE(deodorant @ May 7 2009, 03:39 PM) Do you actually listen to all 16gb of songs though o_o Actually no i don't - but it's more like 17 gigs of songs that i've ripped from the CDs I own. I just like the idea of carrying my entire CD collection with me I only have a few hundred megs of music on my iphone. My entire collection in my PC is like 40 gigs (been collecting since the days of dialup, aha), but 90+% of them I don't listen anymore so I never bothered putting it on my phone. A 32gig Iphone would be perfect for me if it existed But 8gb is good enough for now. |
