I can't see your picture clearly but I think I got what you mean. I have this prob with my tube as well. It happens when the screen is about to lock, the backlight go dim first (the phone isn't locked yet). When you hit the keyguard this time, the backlight will be turned on and the screen is locked. Then you need to unlock it again. This is probably due to the firmware bug.

1 Question.
Sometimes when i uses Handbrake to convert video, sometimes the 1st part can run but 2nd part will fail and turn out to be a "HandbrakeCLI.exe.stackdump" file. Is there anything wrong with my settings or it's the problem with my source file ?

Source video - Xvid Avi
Length - Ard 100 minutes.
Size - 640 x 272

Targeted Output video - MP4 ( FFmpeg )
Avrg Bitrate - 1500
Size - 640 x 350
FPS - 25

haha is that so?

a n00b is just a rude way to say newbie. it doesn't have to be the n00b is arrogant. For example when gaming, if you're a newbie people will still say n00b..

But anyway I can see the people here when they claim themselves to be a n00b like how I used to, its just basically being polite n humble.

The pre-loaded songs are in your memory card. If you have not deleted them then just refresh your library it should be there..

Btw I have managed to add chinese font support for my custom font...

Attached Image
(notice the last song)

The method is quite fairly simple.. you need a .ttf font editor and what you do is, use Y-Browser to navigate to "Z" drive in your phone and copy out the original 'Fonts' folder from the 'Resource' folder into your "E" drive of the phone (meaning the memory card).
Then copy that Fonts folder to your PC. Use a .ttf font editor to merge your custom font with the original font but overwrite the mappings so that the custom font's mapping will be displayed yet the other characters will remain.

Then basically the common ABC 123 will be your custom font, and every other mapping such as chinese chracters or special symbols will be from the original Nokia font.

Btw I noticed one thing:

QUOTE
s60sc_c.ttf
s60tchk_c.ttf
S60ZDIGI.ttf

While the tutorials on the internet asks us to to create the same file 3 times and just rename them, I notice the original fonts in the phone each file is different. So what I did was, I merge the custom font with the s60sc_c and s60tchk_c seperately. For S60ZDIGI I just use back the phone's original because in there is just digital digits.

I know what I am saying in confusing but you just need to experiment here and there and you will slowly get it..

isit possible to show only time and date when ur screen light off?
*
It's quite impossible since the 5800 or any Nokia sleep mode is a complete shut off on the screen. You can however use a screensaver.. one that support s60v5 is this

PhonePhreak TimeScreen Screensaver

you can google it is all over the places..

But don't expect it to save juice like when you're in complete sleep mode cause it still uses the screen. what it does is just disabling the sleep mode and use the lowest backlight.

i've just tried according to what others are saying that for saving juice for our tube up to 4-5 days without heavy usage, can go to menu--> settings-->phone-->display-->light sensor and adjust it to minimum/the lowest slider of it. Works on my tube. Can save my home electricity bill oso

I have been looking for an application that can store information and protected by password. I’m sure that there are a few of them out there but this one is absolutely free. It’s called Hack Proof Password Manager. Based on its name, it’s hacked proof, although I can’t it prove myself, I’ll take their word for it.

When you first load the app, it’ll ask for a password, which will become your global password. Meaning, if you or someone else tries to log in and doesn’t know the password, the only other option is to erase all data or quit the app. The interface on this app is user-friendly. Under options you can add, delete and update information. You can change your password, and export and import your data file. You can also get the option menu when you double click and hold data under content list.

There are a lot to choose from when it comes to adding data type. A few of them are bank account, email information, combination lock and network login. It even has general purpose, which I think can be use to put some personal notes. There is a lot of information that you can select when adding information to a type of data. Aside from password, account number, pin code. There are a few more that can be use to input data. The app is set to close after certain amount of time of no use, although it’s not configurable. My guess is about two minutes.

I think overall this application is a very powerful and useful. It can be use to store important information and it’s absolutely free
