depend what problem your phone occur. If cannot start phone, how to change the font ?
*
the font file is in the memory card not the phone so technically all you need to do is remove you memory card and the font will be at default. anyway when you give NCC your tube to repair they will ask you to keep your MicroSD card.

@tabletennis

I just checked... no hairline scratches at all. Maybe its the way you cut your nails? I always cut my nails rounded.

Thats why I was wondering also about the IS how come it does not cover the corners. Its supposed to be 'full body'...

its supposed to be almost cut proof too actually because they used a pen to try to puncture the IS and it didn't tear or anything

Btw changing font is really a tough thing to choose.. cos it seems only the boring 'standard' looking fonts will look proper.. those fancy ones will have some parts cannot be displayed or smtg like that...

I am gonna try Segoe UI like suggested by Alex... after all when Windows Vista first came out everyone was crazy about this font blush.gif

Just connect your phone via 'Mass Storage' then copy the .sis theme file into the 'Installs' folder then use your phone's file manager to install. Or you can use application manager also.

n00bs are meant for ppl who don't know anything but pretend to know everything...

you're just a newbie.. not n00b..

Welcome newbie tubie!
*
haha is that so?

a n00b is just a rude way to say newbie. it doesn't have to be the n00b is arrogant. For example when gaming, if you're a newbie people will still say n00b..

But anyway I can see the people here when they claim themselves to be a n00b like how I used to, its just basically being polite n humble.

hey i updated my firmware to the latest version and now i can't play the pre-loaded songs, why is this so? How can i play them or activate them?
*
The pre-loaded songs are in your memory card. If you have not deleted them then just refresh your library it should be there..

Btw I have managed to add chinese font support for my custom font...

Attached Image
(notice the last song)

The method is quite fairly simple.. you need a .ttf font editor and what you do is, use Y-Browser to navigate to "Z" drive in your phone and copy out the original 'Fonts' folder from the 'Resource' folder into your "E" drive of the phone (meaning the memory card).
Then copy that Fonts folder to your PC. Use a .ttf font editor to merge your custom font with the original font but overwrite the mappings so that the custom font's mapping will be displayed yet the other characters will remain.

Then basically the common ABC 123 will be your custom font, and every other mapping such as chinese chracters or special symbols will be from the original Nokia font.

Btw I noticed one thing:

QUOTE
s60sc_c.ttf
s60tchk_c.ttf
S60ZDIGI.ttf

While the tutorials on the internet asks us to to create the same file 3 times and just rename them, I notice the original fonts in the phone each file is different. So what I did was, I merge the custom font with the s60sc_c and s60tchk_c seperately. For S60ZDIGI I just use back the phone's original because in there is just digital digits.

I know what I am saying in confusing but you just need to experiment here and there and you will slowly get it..

i've just tried according to what others are saying that for saving juice for our tube up to 4-5 days without heavy usage, can go to menu--> settings-->phone-->display-->light sensor and adjust it to minimum/the lowest slider of it. Works on my tube. Can save my home electricity bill oso
*
Saving the juice is one thing... but making too dim for your eyes can ultimately spoil ur eyes and I dont think that is worth risking.

Have you ever wonder why it is harder to read text in the dark? Same theory.. your eyes is trying very hard to adjust to the dim light and eventually will increase your power (if you're wearing specs)

is it a good time to buy this phone ?

coz i got lot of frenz complaining got problem..with headset etc.
so i wonder is it a good time to buy..

thanks for enlighten me guyz!!! thank YOU!!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
*
Yes it is a good time to buy the phone. Make sure you check the price... nowadays the price is around RM1280~RM1300.
The problem can be avoided all you need to do is follow the 1st page how to check the phone make sure 100% is okay.
And another thing is make sure the firmware is v20. 70% chance if the batch is already comes with v20 means its the new batch and all the problems are solved.

so so thanks J-slade...u're the man!!  icon_rolleyes.gif
i still rmber u teach me to use the internet speed optimization.. smile.gif
ok..final thing is to ask ..firmware v20 check from warranty card?
or the phone itself? ask the seller to show me the firmware version?
sorry..coz im a very very old symbian supporter 7610...  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
you're welcome..

to check the firmware open the dialer and key in *#0000# and the firmware info will pop up. Make sure you scroll down and check the part that says "latest update" and make sure it says "Not Updated"

this means this phone is factory updated as v20.

if there is a last update that means this batch is from the old batch and the shop seller update it himself and trying to cheat you by selling old stock.

Tube ON indeed!

I never had any regret buying this phone...

GPS = Awesome just like a Garmin Nuvi
WiFi = Awsome just like a mini laptop
Touch Screen = Awesome cos not everyone has it yet
Music = Awesome more awesome than any phone out there through the phone's stereo speaker
Camera = a lot of people don't like it but to me its awesome because my previous phone is only 2.0mp
Reception = Better than my old phone but sadly Maxis always f-up
SMS = Awesome QWERTY keyboard which I never had
3.5G = I don't know what 3.5G is yet but the 3G connection faster than my old phone
Front Camera = Can use to take camwhore pictures... my gf likes
Applications = Awesome because support for Symbian is very strong.. within these few months so many games/apps come out for s60v5
Video Player = Awesome can play 640x360 (Widescreen) and it even support .mov and .h264 format
Video Recorder = Awesome can zoom in while recording and can record high quality video and can record 1hr 30 mins plus non stop.

The only thing I regret about the phone is that it doesn't come out earlier. A lot of people think I buy this phone just because I cannot afford an iPhone mad.gif

ya ... i just follow J-slade say just now ..
i got my new font w/chinese
*
You guys whom tried to merge the custom icons, did you remove the old characters before copy over or you just overwrite? Because for mine when I just overwrite I am getting 'overlapping' and also the original font got more "à è ï ó û" characters than my custom fonts... so I manually delete the "à è ï ó û" characters (both capital n small) ABC (both capital and small) and numbers 0-9.

Now the problem goes away.. altho.... in my qwerty got a lot of blank spaces for the "à è ï ó û" la... sweat.gif
But its okay at least the font is correct. I noticed the original font got russian font, simplified and traditional chinese and japanese if I am not mistaken... thats why the file is 3mb around there... anyway I just merge the english alphabets and it works flawlessly rclxms.gif
