On a personal note, please never every buy cheaplak cables to connect to your Iphone/Ipods I've had many Ipods over the years and most have seen fairly high usage.. but my IPot is the only one with problems to its charging port now, because of a no-brand ipod cable ..

I bought it one day when I realized I was in the office (used to work in BTS) and had no cable to charge my IPot, so I went to a crappy store and bought a cheaplak rm 20 cable.. that thing had always been a "tight" fit into the port and now my IPoT even with an original cable needs to jiggle the cable a bit and not touch it for it to start charging sad.gif

I'm looking for a air-conditioner vent mounting clip for my iphone for use in my car. Something that will be ok with the fact that I've got a case on my phone (so a little adjustable).

Failing that, a windscreen mount (with suction cup), provided that it is legal here in Malaysia (I'm not sure of the laws, but it never seems to be the same anywhere I go, can anyone inform me?). Again, something that will accommodate the fact I've got my phone in a case.

I'm wanting to mount it with good visibility to the sky through my windscreen for optimal GPS reception. I find if I have it sit in my center console, or mounted out of my cig lighter plug it can frequently lose reception, so I end up having to hold the thing out in front of my while I drive when I get lost which isn't the safest of things to do.

So, can anyone recommend where to get either of these products? I live in petaling jaya, although I'm happy to make a trip into KL or anywhere else not too far away to pick something like this up.

i got mine from this mobile phone accessory shop in 1Utama, about RM20 bucks if i recall correctly. the whole package includes a windscreen mount with suction cup, and also an air-cond vent mounting clip together. i've been using the windscreen mount and it's been very sturdy so far.

i can't remember what's the name of the shop, i think it's called Novacell, but i can roughly tell you where in 1Utama it is:

it's located on the top floor, near TGV, at the stretch where it starts connecting to the new wing. directly opposite TGV's popcorn counter is a shoe shop, so walk down along that stretch of shops, and u'll see Novacell. it should be the 3rd or 4th shop on that row.

tink,

Pure-Fi Dream(rm1100+) sound quality is very good. I just don't like the small clock display. It's much more expensive than purefi anytime(rm400+), hence i went and bought anytime instead.

@viosowner,
Yeah the price of the Logitech Pure-Fi Dream is a bit steep. Anyhow, just wanna check, does the GSM thingy work; as in when a call comes in when the iPhone is docked in, does it give you any "noise"?

Also, is RM970 a good price for it, in your opinion?

as i said, i'm not willing to pay 1k for a dock. If i have that cash, i will definitely go for Dream as the sound quality is so much nicer than Anytime.

I recall I tested GSM and it worked. Don't take my word for it, just go to MidValley IT center. there is a Logitech store there with all the iphone/pod dockings displayed side by side for u to test. U can plug ur iphone in and try all features to ur heart's content. Then u will know wat i mean by Dream's audio is so much more better cool.gif

I think the cheap cables are ok to use, but just need to be careful when plugging in and out to avoid damaging the iphone jack. but i suggest to charge only with PC/notebook USB (not direct house outlet) if using the cheap cable.

If you went to Midvalley Logitech shop, Capdase Dock Connector for Apple is just RM 48. Yet you still can bargain maybe like RM 45. brows.gif
