Wow, Thats really far. So far I still cannot justify the distance. Some places I can fetch good reception after some distance, Some not. Guess I need to find an open space as a test reference to see theoretical distance. According to the manual, Tinted screens reduces signal coverage by a small margin.

Anyone know where i can get the Crime Fighther Alarm + good workmanship on installation.

I would prefer buy it and install it in the same shop rather then get online and install it outside.

If you know the shop, please provide the contact ?

Well it's an older post but as a crimefighter owner and user i want to add some things the original poster did not wrote.

Let me start first with saying the prostar and crime fighter are from the same manufacktuer.
The crimefighter has come in place of the prostar alarm,
the main differences between both alarms is the crime has no knock sensor annymore so the driver paging fuction is not availible.
The range of the crime is way longer
and the crimefighter has an oled display.

I upgraded from a prostar to crime fighter
one big plus point is that the old prostar remotes the normal remote
and the watchconn remote are compatible with the crime fighter you can program 3 remotes max to the crime fighter,
so i have both old remotes from the prostar in use with the crime.

lets start with the featurs the crime has.

Full color oled display with animations
proximity sensor (passive keyless entry)
user friendly pull-down menu system settings
anti carjacking (remote engine shutdown)
up to 3000 meters range
live car status report to remote
engine remote start function
resevation mode (safety feature for manuel transmission remote start)
preset engine timed start
build in turbo timer
remote trunk release
remote central locking (door lock/unlock outputs)
incar temperature sensor
valet mode
active arming/passive arming selectable
starter kill
3x auxiliary ouputs for additional sensors or window control module
flashing parking lights
car finder/remote panic
super bright led status indicator
optional
extra schock sensor
optional radar sensor
optional glass breach sensor
optional hood pinswitch
optional remotes
optional window module
optional charger

the alarm comes with a good instalation manual
and is easy to instal if you know how to use a soldering iron and how to use a multi meter you can install it your self
the wire harnases might be intimidating but it's not just connect the cables you need that's it
i sugest to buy the optional starter kill relay you need to cut some wires at the start key ignition but again not hard to do.
when instalt power the alarm up and go thru the programming modes
turn ignition on and off 7 times to add the remotes to ad the romote pres button 2 within 5 seconds add more by then also within 5 seconds by pressing button 2
for manuel transmission set transmission in nutral start engine engine will shut off by it's self and the programming is complete.
the crime fighter is verry easy to use and reliable
and the 3 extra outputs are handy for switching extra stuff on and off like in car neon, strobe flashers etc.
it really can compete with more exspensive brands.

Yeah, I'm with the same predicament as you! icon_question.gif

Some saw the auto window wind up/down is not so good, as it might cause your original winder a problem! rclxub.gif

Although steelmate doesnt auto lock, but it sends a vibration to the remote as a reminder, so the user can decide. hmmm

I dont want the door to be locked when the key is in the ignition, prefer brake press, would it still lock if the door is ajar?

when the remote battery is weak, how do we change to mode so that we could open the door manually?

those are the few questions I have. Hope some users here could answer, my advance thanks.

Although steelmate doesnt auto lock, but it sends a vibration to the remote as a reminder, so the user can decide. hmmm different people have different preference. I prefer to walk off after some distance, the car will lock by itself and my remote will prompt me that the car is locked. You can set passive or active arm to suit your needs.

I dont want the door to be locked when the key is in the ignition, prefer brake press, would it still lock if the door is ajar?will lock in a period of time after ignition. Locking mechanism isn't executed via brake if not mistaken, it's driven by time duration

when the remote battery is weak, how do we change to mode so that we could open the door manually?use key. There is a tutorial on how to disengage the alarm using key when your remote is totally flat.

those are the few questions I have. Hope some users here could answer, my advance thanks.

I don't believe in installing alarms where anyone have access to the wiring diagram. Just like those off shelf alarms sold at Brothers.

Alarm is just a deterrent and not a prevention. I'm installing for its features like auto wind window, remote trunk open, internal temperature, and auto start whistling.gif

steelmate just autolock if u accidentally unlock ur car without opening any door, else it'll autoarm without locking the door

1 thing to point out regarding steelmate, the built in battery lasts for few months per charge.. and it'll give warning when battery charge is going low
but i have longer range with tenon alarm if compared to steelmate sweat.gif
