Duno why nokia is taking so long to release a new firmware for 5800...already a month since v20 is released...any1 knows how fast or slow firmware of phone like e71 are released??

It's resistive, confirmed... No mineral glass screen, no capacitive...

Capacitive doesn't support stylus, gloves and even fingernails.. so our tube is resistive.. theres a reason why they use resistive.. so nokia can show off the hand writting recognition (even in chinese) and inovative plectrum input method.. something iphone not having.. it could be that it's cheaper too.. but i'm not sure of that..

what i like about resistive is that i can rest my finger on it or sometimes gently clean the finger print without pressing every buttons.. capacitive you have to lift off your finger..
durable wise capacitive is better thou...

Hi all, I have some inquiries on Garmin... I have installed Garmin earlier from my dealers and it was working fine until I decided to do a soft reset

After the soft reset, Garmin was working fine too...but I am unable to select Thailand's map... Previously I was able to view Thailand's map as a selection, but now I do not see it anywhere, but I checked in Map Sets -> Detailed Maps/Built in Maps, Thailand v8.0 EN is in there...

Copy again your thailand .img file to your garmin folder

i have copied all the IMG files into the GARMIN folder....but it is still not appearing as an option even though Thailand Maps is selected in Map Sets...

did u delete the basemap from the garmin folder?

Nope, still no luck on that...in the Map Sets, the Thailand Maps is shown as Built-in maps and the IMG files in E:\GARMIN folder does not really give me a hint which is the THAILAND IMG file so I just re-copy all IMG files into GARMIN folder after deleting it in E:\GARMIN.

Another question is about fring...apparently, fring merges my MSN contacts with my phonebook contacts when operating, and it made the whole list real messy and long... is there anyway for fring to show ONLY my MSN contacts ? or any other recommendations for IM softwares? I tried to use the built in IM application, but it asks for servers details which I am unaware of... I know for yahoo configurations, but unsure of MSNs.

How could i transfer my sms from memory card to phone memory.
Previously, i have chosen save sms to "memory card". However, all the sms is not visible after i choose the option sms save to "phone memory". Is phone memory able to save sms upto maximum 999 as well ?

Any idea ?

Yeah, you have to use either the fingernails or the edges of your finger(the pointy hard bit of your finger). The two layers of the resistive touchscreen needs to have as small contact patch as possible to get the best accuracy and response.

apparently sms storage is near unlimited if u chose to store it into the memory card. When you mention previously, do you mean saving SMS into the SIM Card on a different gadget and now loading it into 5800xm ?

i choose to save my sms into the phone memory...and i can save more than 2k sms (inbox & sent item)...but if inbox is more then 1k or 1.5k like that the name of the sender will not appear...only number will appear...

something weird happened with my tube. yesterday i did backup using pc suite, completed with some errors. but when i review the log, everything went well. suddenly all my contacts are gone. i had to restart the phone then only the contacts reappear.

anyone lucky like me?
