I'm surprised that you can actually

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Jul 6 2010, 02:51 PM) you are asking an obvious question. oh. so poor students who cannot afford to get an original book or can't borrow any from the library have no choice but to go in the exam hall empty handed? photocopying a book is literally piracy. the same reason why plagiarism is prohibited |

QUOTE(zstan @ Jul 6 2010, 04:00 PM) oh. so poor students who cannot afford to get an original book or can't borrow any from the library have no choice but to go in the exam hall empty handed? don't be so naive.you can always purchase second hand/used books and when you are done with them, sell on marketplace. 95% of my books are not new. you don't have to agree with me but you always try asking your unit leader for the university's official policy. if you can find one who agrees with you, please quote his/her name here. thanks and have a good day ahead! Added on July 6, 2010, 4:26 pmunless the university has subsidised/authorised the book's copyright and a student obtained it via the library site. QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Jul 6 2010, 02:31 PM) I'm surprised that you can actually The entire book? bring in copyright infringed materials i.e. photocopied books into the examination hall. Coz I know if its chapter by chapter..that is not copyright infringement. Thats why my lecturers used to ask us to separate each chapters |

First of all - not a twinning program! Its an intercampus transfer. The policy has changed or something? Clayton - minimum 2years there, Caufield-minimum 1.5 years. is that true? Im doing the bachelor of business and commerce in sunway, second sem starting soon. Secondly - I doubt its true. Getting Caulfield / Clayton would highly depend on your results. From what I know, Clayton takes in people with better grades. The entrance requirements for Clayton is higher as well. Also, it would depend on whether you're planning to exchange or transfer. If you plan to exchange, chances are very high that you will be at the Caulfield campus (or Berwick, Gippsland..). But if you're doing the intercampus transfer, and your results are good very good chance you'll get the Clayton campus. Take note that if you're planning to transfer, the degree names in the Sunway and Clayton/Caulfield campus is different. Always ask if you're not sure. If the Sunway people are not helpful, call the campus you want to transfer to and ask. From experience they are very much clearer and more helpful. |

QUOTE(happy_pink @ Jul 6 2010, 06:16 PM) The food in Monash is.. "okay" for me but the hawker stalls outside are definitely more appetizing.I've been eating in Monash for 1.5 yeas everyday without fail so I'm used to it already. If you're not fussy with food then just eat in Monash. |

QUOTE(happy_pink @ Jul 6 2010, 06:16 PM) The food here in Monash is just okay. I always eat from this stall called Indozest. Most of the time price ranges from rm5 to rm7 depending on what you eat. White rice is way cheaper then ordering fried noodles or fried rice. Been eating there for 1.5 years adi. |

In other words, yes. Copyright is a very big thing not just in Monash but in all universities. Malaysia might be a bit loose on this but in Australia it's a total no-no. And since we're an Australian university therefore it's not legal in our campus too. BUT, you do see photocopy books around campus (carried around by students). Just not in exam. |
